So I went to YouTube today and saw something rather strange...
It was an advertisment for Volvo XC60, now given the current economic trend, I am not really interested in purchasing a car at the moment.

However, some people may be in the market.

But that is not my point, my point is...
"Would a self-respecting vampire really drive around in a Volvo?"

I mean think about it, do you think the new advertisment is going to get the 16-24 crowd to purchase a Volvo?

Volvo needs to expand its customer base, because Northeast college professors with patches in their sleeves aren't enough.

There seem to be plenty of middle-aged women included in the Twilight demographic. There are also a fair number of teenagers driving luxury cars.

And I thought Volvo drivers were old, wore big hats and drove slow.

Wait... When did the characters in Twilight become self-respecting?

I doubt they even know what the meaning of the words are, given the way Bella throws herself at abusive men.

Because if there's nothing teenage girls like more, it's bland looking Swedish cars.

I'm a fan of the 80's Volvos because my parents used to have one, but having a vampire drive a volvo is lame. They don't need to driving cars with high safety standards.

Cool Vampires/hybrid vampire hunters drive cool cars.

The only guy I know who drives a Volvo is a middle-aged Buddhist who teaches 6th grade math. He might be into Twilight, but I doubt it.

Don't you love how movie heroes always get a car that suits them best?

James Bond had the Aston-Martin. Fast, sexy, stylish, and loaded with state-of-the-art gear.
Frank Bullitt had the Ford Mustang. Pure American power, with an edge.
Indiana Jones would just steal something after beating up the previous driver. Rough and tumble, most often a piece of military equipment.

And Edward Cullen, that bastion of masculinity who makes women swoon....putt-putts around in a [f] Volvo.

It just reminds me so much of the South Park episode when the kids want to become Vampires and people at school keep getting the Goths and the Vampires confused with each other.

    The Gothers become Preppies...

However, in this case the Vampires will become the equilivent and sell out to Volvo.

I don't know anyone who personally drives a Volvo... this will later become another SAAB story.

What I find to be ironic is that Vampires don't die of "natural causes"... this would include car crashes. So why would a vampire need such a well built car? ;)
