    When the Star Wars Hyperspace webcam became active it showed the Mustafar Meeting Room stage build. This was the moment that I decided to make it in to a 3d model. So it has been finished from some time. But when the movie came out it showed that my lights are wrong. So I updated the model gave different lights.

    Then the windows and all the detail
    [image=http://massassi.yavin4.com/max/3dmmcr_03.jpg]

    Then adding the maps
    [image=http://massassi.yavin4.com/max/3dmmcr_05.jpg]
    Then the following picute I had finsihed before the movie was released

    Judging will be up to Zoo and his panel of Judges.
    Not sure if they would judge on a per-model basis or "body of work" basis.

    In either case, I can only pass on one "prize" per individual, so if (for example) models by MassassiOrder were to be awarded First and Third place, I would be able to assign first prize to him, but and the fourth place modeler would be awarded the third prize.

    That said, while these models are very impressive, there is the possibility that working on so many at once can hinder the quality of each model individually.

    The Jedi conference room looks really good, but the room iteself has very little detail to begin with.
    Padme's Verada is missing quite a bit of detail and has some scaling issues. (Massassi mentions this in his own posts)
    The Mustafar conference room is the most detailed and involved of the lot, (shown so far), but even this room has room for some minor detailing and corrections.

    These notes are NOT intended to take away from the great work Massassi is showing!
    The models are great and it'll be really interesting to see them progress!

    I just wanted to point out that (esp. with two months to go!) the field is still wide open. An individual that focuses their efforts on careful detailing of a single model can be very compeative against any of the models being shown so far.

    In general, those that are entering should keep an eye on the field for motivation and provide comments and support to one another, but whatever you do, DON'T STOP WORKING!! :)
    The only way you can be sure to be out of the running is not submit an entry. :D

    Good luck!
    Have fun.

    1 more thing tho do you have to have started the model when the contest was anounced or would it be allowed to have models that you've been working on for months?

    ofcourse no offense to massassi i'm just looking to make this a fair contest

    Well weather he wins or not I think he's just entering just to enter. I mean this is his work anyways. He spent just as much time as anyone else making these models. And all this is really for is to help(IMO)the community partcipate more with 3d model creations and sharing. And regardless weather he qualifies or not, I am sure Jan will be willing to share his work regardless.
    At the end it is up to ZOO to decide anyways.

    WOW. Nice lighting and texturing.

    It doesn't matter if somebody enters more than ONE thing at a time. There is no advantage to doing that. It's all based on one "best" work. I haven't seen anything either that would be a disadvantage to anyone else either. I've seen his work on some interiors from the beginning of 2005. But it wasn't anything a good modeller couldn't do in one day... an average modeller several days... somebody like me weeks. But there's plenty of time to catch up. Somebody like Mike Verta wouldn't enter his Blockade Runner Hallway anyway, which would win of course, and we'd probably have him enter it in some other sorta competition too. This is really a good opportunity for you guys. Massassi's work has GREATLY improved. People like Zorbi aren't interested in this contest anyway. So it's all fair. If we had something with some CASH $$ prizes or something other expensive software etc. then that's another story. Maybe some day later. I've thought about using some of SF3D donations and my own money as a cash prize. So we'll think about all of this in the future b/c it's going so well so far but nobody needs to worry about fairness or anything. I don't think it's an issue right now.

    Yes, ofcourse I like it. The Landscape look just real. Far better then the picure I used.
    I look at some scenes of the movie, and detected that the table is different then the one in my model.
    I will post someo pictures to show.

    O, to come back, on the multiple models thing. A model like this one takes me about 100 man hours now. But the advantage is to the rest of the models. In the coming months I have very little time. You know, work, wife, kids etc. (not in that order). So I think the rest of you can catch up very quickly. (and surly do a better job).

    Anyway if you need any ref. pictures, I have tons of stuff. Please let me know if I can help out.

    Initial version was made from the hyperspace webcam, before the movie was released. The webcam showed the consturction of this set.
    Did some updates after the movie came out. Most of it for the lights. Also the Glow was added for the screens and lights. Also changed the background of the planet, with a better picture.

    I think it looks awesome. It would be very easy to do video with that model and have it look realistic. Is it possible for you to release it?
