I have been trying to convert my .asx file to .asf file so I can convert the .asf to an .AVI.
The reason for that is I need to shorten it for my presentation for school. Any ideas? Btw, I have tried google, and those things didn't work. Google tells me to change the filename to .asf, but that does nothing. So please help. Thanks in advance!

ASX files are metafiles, i.e., they provide information about ASF media files. When a browser links to an ASX file, the ASX file in turn links to an ASF file on a server.

I looked up the extention on google after your post. From the definition I would guess that was just a metafile for an original asf file somewhere. Although I did find a few sites that said it could be converted to mp3 files?

To the best of my knowledge, an .asx file indexes several .asf files, so I would use the freeware program SDP to isolate and download the relevant stream as .asf
