Lets just think for a moment and wonderwhat if Obi wan had taken Dooku's offer. Do you think that they would have poerful enough to stop Sidious???

It's certainly interesting as a concept...we've already seen that Obi-Wan is no joke when he touches the Dark Side when he went after Maul by himself at the end of the duel. And Dooku is equal to bloody Yoda, and completely emasculated the Chosen One..

I donno. I suppose they'd give him a good running.

They might of had a little chance but remember Dooku would'nt of help Obi-Wan he was going to take Obi there so he and Sidious could turn him.But that makes a choice for Dooku.
    Follow the light=
Be praised by just about everyone and have respect.
    or
    Follow the Dark=
Be one of two (have a chance to rule the galaxy) and get mintr powers like force lightning.

    Which would you choose.....?

No, i don't think they could kill Sidious. Remember that Sidious is the Dark Lord of the Sith, not to mention one of the most successful betrayers in the galaxy. This wouldn't have been the first time he would've faced reluctance and as we've seen in the OT it definately wouldn't be his last.

Dooku is correctly said one of the richest and most powerful men in the universe. He could hire assassins but for a foe such as Sidious, his henchmen wouldn't even get though the front door. Plus Sidious would probably know if he was up to something, and if so he would either have him assassinated or take care of the situation himself. He's a force to be reckoned with, but he's no match for Sidious.

Obi-Wan isn't as powerful as Dooku in the least, but he's very powerful nonetheless.

Now if Obi-Wan would've taken Dooku up on his offer and somehow on the wrong turn of luck defeated Sidious, Obi-Wan would more than likely be expelled from the Jedi Order and possibly worse for assassinating the Supreme Chancellor, as for Dooku, i have no vague idea. Probably killed. The story of "he was evil" would never fly.

I think it was a trick by Dooku, and they would have just killed Obi-Wan.

Only the Chosen One can defeat the Dark Lord of the Sith.

it would have been a good challange. I don't think they could have done it.

But you do have to respect the fact that ob1 now knows how to block lighting. (funny he didn't teach Luke). I would have to vote for sidouse as the winner.

This is the very essense of the Sith. If Obi did give into Dooku, I say they would have at least attempted such a thing, and if succeeded, you'd have two different bad-asses running the show. Its a clue as to how righteous Obi-Wan is. To him its as simple as " Ill never join you, Dooku! " . Its obviosly not that simple for Anakin. And remember that Dooku has a genuine liking for Obi-Wan that stems from their connection with Qui-Gon, at least thats my opinion.

Also remember that Dookus' turn to the darkside stemmed from political ideology ( a trait he passed onto to his padawan, Qui-Gon ) , so it probably wouldnt be a stretch to say that at least in the beginniing, that he had it in his mind to overthrow Palpatine. Dooku was most likely the first to sense that something was terribly wrong when he was a Jedi as far as the slowly encroaching " dark side " clouding everything. In his investigation his socialist thinking led him to think he was Palpatines' equal, hence the one who could stop him, but the promise of power that Palpatine most definetly placed before Dooku was enough to stop the worldly Jedi from ending it right there. And thats where Dooku probably committed himself to the Darkside. By the time AotC takes place, the Count is past the point of no return.

No, that wouldn't happen. Even if they were to face Sidious alone, I'm sure he'd still win. Though if Dooku were to turn on him he'd most likely have a new apprentice quickly who would probably kill them for him.

Sidious should be more powerful than Obi-Wan and Dooku put together.

They would both have power to destroy Sidious, if Anakin(Darth Vader) had the chance to destroy him, then they would. But they would have to use his weakness against him.

count dooku could probably stand up to sidious blade to blade by himself, im not saying he would win by himself but with obi-wan, sidious couldnt stand up to them...and if they did kill him and turned to the light, they would be heroes, the jedi could tell if sidious's body reeked of the dark side

I think Dooku wanted to overthrow Sidious and that is why he was making the offer to Obi-Wan BUT he hadn't/wouldn't mention anything about being a Sith himself or turning Obi-Wan into one at the time. He was using the political problems and the idea of the Sith being in control of the Senate as his excuse. His intention was to use Obi to help him defeat Sidious (and I think they could have) and then either try to turn Obi-Wan to the dark side or kill him and find another apprentice. I feel certain that this was his general plan. He was an older man, a powerful rich man, there is no way he wanted to be the "apprentice" the rest of his life (and if he's smart he knows about the rule of two and bringing Obi or anyone else in for Palpy to turn would mean bad news for him.)

I don't think Obi-Wan and Dooku could have defeated Sidious. Obi-Wan barely beat Maul and Dooku could bested him rather easily.

I think a more powerful Jedi would have could have been counted on to kill to help Dooku, such as Mace or Anakin.

Yes I think if Obi-Wan took Dooku's offer I think they could have stopped and taken over sidious.

This is actually quite an interesting question.

I think Dooku's offer was sincere, in that he wanted Obi-Wan to join him to defeat Sidious and put an end to corruption - just because Dooku has turned bad doesn't mean his political views have changed. ;)

Would Obi-Wan and Dooku have succeeded?

    I think so, yes.

If Luke and Vader had double-teamed Palpatine, they would have won. If Luke and Palps double-teamed Vader, they would have won.

The Sith use the rule of 2 because as soon as a 3rd party enters the game, both Sith want to use that 3rd party to kill off their rival to become the Sith Big Cheese.

The Master wants to solidify his position (you can't be too careful!), and the Apprentice wants to supplant his Master: the 3rd party is the key.

And I can see Obi-Wan joining Dooku, but not Sidious - Obi-Wan doesn't care about power, but politics? Creating order in the galaxy?

According to Anakin Obi Wan is as powerful as Mace. I think the he and Dooku would have made a formidable team. Although I think Obi Wan would probably let the Council know his intentions and they would say or do sumthin to screw it up.
