Cut scene with Obi-Wan kissing Padme - does it exist? (pics???)

I remember that when we were waiting for Ep.II, one of the spoilers that were flying around was about a picture/scene that featured Obi-Wan kissing Padmé. There was supposed to be an actual pic of it on the internet, but I never saw it, I just read about it.

As we all know now, Obi doesn't kiss Padmé in AOTC, and neither is such a scene included in the cut scenes that are on the DVD. So my question to the better informed ones on this forum is: Was a scene with Obi-Wan kissing Padmé ever actually filmed? And what about the abovementioned spoiler pic? Does it exist? Was it a fake? Could you please post it here if you know where to find it?

Was it maybe not a pic of Obi kissing Ami, but of Ewan kissing Natalie (if you catch my drift)? (ahh, rumors are so much fun... )

And no, I'm not an Obidala shipper in the slightest, I'm just curious as to whether this pic/cut scene actually exists.

 

I remember the early rumors about a love-triangle, but I don't remember hearing about a scene being filmed, nor about a picture existing.

 

This is the first time I have heard of it, because I didn't join any Star Wars Community until watching Episode II.

There is an outtake photo somewhere of Ewan McGregor giving Temura Morrison a peck on the cheek after fluffing a scene. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

 

No, I was specifically thinking of a pic of Ewan and Natalie (OB1 and Ami).

 

I've been here a while now and I've never heard of this scene/picture in question.

I highly doubt its existence.

 

I know there were rumors of a love triangle storyline, but as far as I know, it was all speculation. If a photo like that does exist, it probably has nothing to do with the story and is most likely only tangetially related to the production of the film.

 

I believe the closest to anything like this would have been an early draft of TPM, though they never kissed. In an early draft, Qui-Gon did not come into the story until much later, Obi-Wan, Padme and Anakin were all older, and Obi-Wan was the one who went into Mos Espa and discovered Anakin. While there, Padme was making eyes at Obi-Wan and generally fawning over him, suggesting a future love trianle. But that was abandoned when Qui-Gon's role was expanded and the ages of the characters were changed.

 

In one of the behind the scenes things on the dvd it has Ewan kissing Natalie on the cheek, maybe that's what the people who spread the rumors saw.

Well there wouldn't be any cut scene. I do remmeber Ewan kissing her cheek on the dvd but that's it.

The love triangle rumour has been around for decades now, I think, but clearly it's not part of Episode II. Also, Obi-Wan does the Jedi bowing thing to her upon greeting (although Anakin is clearly too special to bother)so he doesn't kiss her to say hello, even. It may just have been a Ewan-Natalie thing. Although, if it were in the script, I'd be curious who gets to break the news to Anakin...

 

This is the first I've heard of it.

For my 2 cents it seems unlikely, Obi-wan and Padme are barely evenf riends in AOTC, just aquaintances,t hey only talked once in TPM and twice in AOTC, so a roamnce seems unlikely, plus Obi-wan doesn't seem to like her all that much.

 

Bleck, I doubt it. I've seen the picture of Ewan jokingly kissing Temura (in fact, that's an avatar ) and I've heard of the one kissing Natalie on the cheek, but I've never heard of a kiss in a lost scene.

Personally I am really glad Lucas didn't go the love triangle route. Not only is it lazy storytelling 99% of the time ("Oh, instead of creaturing a real obstacle for (x) character and his lady love, let's just have his best friend fall in love with said lady love, even if he hasn't had ANY interest in her (of in Obi's case, any women) up to this point."), but, in SW case, it's a travesty; none of the characters involved are characterized in a positive light. >_<

 

Out of all the deleted scenes from Episode II that I've hear about and seen, this one doesn't sound like it was ever filmed. I seriously doubt it was. Besides, we all know how Obi-Wan felt about his commitment to the Jedi Order. Think about it.

 

Are there any such people as Obijango shippers? I expect they'd be overjoyed at Ewan's gesture

I personally think Obi-Wan likes Padme well enough, and actually admires her committment to duty and bravery. No romantic interest though-he is completely committed to the Jedi Order and follows the rules precisely. I actually like the idea that Jedi are not allowed to love, and I kinda wish they were chaste.
