Dark Tide NJO question.

I have a couple of questions. It's been awhile since I read the beginning of NJO and I can't find my copies of the books, so if you guys could help that would be great.

First, (1)when did the new republic figure out the inertial compensators could overcome the effects of dovin basals? Before or after the first battle of Dubrillion?

Second, (2)what sparked the first battle of Dubrillion? (3)Was it before or after the republic/Jedi forces destroyed the war cordinator? (4)Who attacked at Dubrillion, the Vong or Lando's ppl? the Republic?

My last group of questions now. The second battle of Dubrillion, (5) how long was it between the first battle and the second battle? (6) Had the Evacuation of the planet begun prior to the second battle? (7) The Vong were completely absent between the two battles right? (8) What point were the Vong camped out in the asteroids around Dubrillion? it was before the first battle, right?

I can't remember very much about about the details, and Wookiepedia wasn't all that much help. Thanks alot for anything you guys can help me with.

ETA: I know its alot of questions, sorry! Also added numbers to the questions to make it easier to answer them.

 

(2) The vong just attacked. I dont think that there was any provocation. Lando mentioned that they had noticed them around some, but that was it. (3) Before if I am not mistaken (4) The vong.

Ok, I think I might have some answers...but I'm not sure what the First and Second battles are considered to be. This is my general understanding of what happened in VP through DT:

In VP the Praetorite Vong attacked Dubrillion with the plan to lure the NR forces back to the yammosk base. Their plan worked, but the NR was able to destroy the yammosk.

In DT Onslaught, the YV were harassing Dubrillion from the asteroid belt, taking pot shots, etc. Admiral Kre'fey comes to help evacuate as many people as possible and Dubrillion is left to the YV. Shedao Shai sets up Dubrillion as his base and mops up any remaining residents.

So if the attack in VP is counted as the First Battle, and the evacuation is the Second, here are the answers:

1) Intertial compensator plan came in DT Onslaught, after the First Battle. I believe Kre'fey suggested it. Gavin tried it before he went to Dubrillion and it worked.

2) Vong attack. 3/4) The Vong attacked Dubrillion, the NR et al took the fight to the Vong and the yammosk.

5) I guesstimate one to two months. 6) no, nothing on a large scale. 7/8) Lando said (upon Leia's return in DT Onslaught) the Vong started camping out in the asteroids about a week and a half after Leia et al left after VP, and had been making minor attacks since then.

 

Darklighter himself invented it and successfully used it in a skirmish prior to Dubrillion, the first time any of the NR counter-skip techniques Rogue Squadron had developed were used. This was two months after VP.

Onslaught is two months after VP.
