    From Wizards.com

Four millennia before the man called Palpatine became Emperor, Malak shone brightly as one of the greatest Jedi heroes. With his comrade Revan, he defeated the Mandalorians in a fierce war that rocked the Republic to its core. But the final victorious battle against the Mandalorians on the Galactic Rim changed the two Jedi. They both gave themselves to the Dark Side, and the newly rechristened Darth Revan and Darth Malak returned from the Outer Rim with a space fleet bent on conquering the galaxy.

Though Revan was the master to Malak's apprentice, the senior Sith Lord soon fell to treachery. Enraged by the death of his master, Darth Malak declared himself the Dark Lord of the Sith and renewed his campaign of hatred and bloodshed. At his disposal was a thousands-strong army of trained Sith conscripts and corrupted Dark Jedi, and a rumored alliance with the massive Czerka Corporation. Malak's Sith fleets were comprised of Republic defectors and a seemingly limitless supply of strange, alien battleships.

An imposing figure with ghostly pale features, prominent Sith tattoos, a gleaming red lightsaber, and devastating Dark Side power, Malak struck terror into the hearts of his former allies. He also wore a vocal mask that may have concealed a form of cybernetic life-support. Did it provide him with powers far greater than even Exar Kun or Freedon Nadd, or was cybernetic enhancement too simple an explanation?

Darth Malak makes an excellent villain for a higher-level campaign set during the Golden Age of the Republic. And if the heroes expect to find him, they'll need to fight their way through the Sith. Once they reach Malak, he may face them with his own lightsaber or, if he feels the occasion calls for it, an ancient Sith sword recovered from ruins on Korriban.

    From Gamebanshee.com

Five short years ago, Darth Malak was no more than a promising student at the Jedi Academy on Dantooine. Though only a young man, his skill in battle and prowess with the lightsaber had already earned him renown within the Order. Given his abilities, and his arrogance, it was only natural that he should ignore the warnings of his Master and join the Republic fleet in its battle against the Mandalorian raiders on the Outer Rim.

In the Mandalorian wars, both Malak and his close friend Revan found the glory they were seeking. While many credited Revan's military strategies for the campaign's success, others were quick to point to Malak's fierce courage and relentless fury at the forefront of every battle as the key to Republic victory.

Already recognized as heroes, Malak and Revan pursued the fleeing Mandalorians into the uncharted regions of space, and all contact was lost. It was only when Revan returned as the Dark Lord of the Sith, with Malak as the Sith Master's general and chosen apprentice, that the galaxy learned what fate had befallen them.

The heroes had become conquerors. With each Sith victory, soldiers and Jedi alike began to abandon old allegiances to join the new power. In desperation, the Order set a trap to capture the two rogue Jedi. Details of the ensuing battle are unclear, but even though Revan and many Jedi were killed, Malak managed to survive the trap that destroyed his Master.

Some claim Malak fled the battle. Others maintain he survived simply because he was stronger than Revan. And there are those who believe Malak turned on Revan, using the opportunity of the Jedi's attack to wrest the mantle of Dark Lord from his former Master's failing grasp.

With Malak now at their head, the Sith continue their advance unabated. What their fleets lack in military strategy they make up for in sheer numbers and ruthless brutality, as Malak seems less interested in conquering Republic worlds than in obliterating them. If he is not stopped the Republic will surely fall, and the entire galaxy will be crushed beneath the Dark Lord's merciless rule.

    Hope that helps. :)

If memory serves correctly, It was Malak that killed Revan. He used his ship to blast the bridge that Revan and Bastila, and other Jedi were on.

His rage is the appearance he wished to give, to hide his own treachery.

It begs noting that Malak was an also-ran. Canderous Ordo makes some of the best first-hand observations about Malak's skill.

It was Revan who owned the galaxy. Malak did, indeed see an opportunity to remove his master and took it.

But, not for Revan, Malak would have been a nobody.

Ok, When Bastila fought Revan on the Sith Battleship. Malak ordered his Sith Battleship to fire at the cockpit to either
    1. Kill Malak and claim the Sith Empire to himself
    2. Kill the Jedi.

    you choose.

In doing so Revan was Badly wounded and Bastila the Jedi. Put a Mind probe in Revans mind to wipe away all memory. In turn Revans new mind joined the Republic.

    Malak's Mouths looks really wired.

Personally, I don't think Malak was all that great. If he were, he would've been the master and not Revan. He tried to kill Revan, and he did it in a wussy way. Instead of challenging him to a duel, he fired on his ship. In the end, Revan kills Malak one way or the other, which proves Revans superiority.
