Darth Maul's REAL name?

For my first FanFic, I'm going to be writing about the exploits of Darth Maul, and I wanted to do it before he became the Sith Apprentice to Darth Sidious.

So if anyone has any history, information and tips for me, please assist!

 

Um I know his real name is Khameir Sarin.

 

Where did you get that information, Elu?

I thought his real name was Ray Park?

 

Khamir Sarin is unofficial according to Lucasfilm Licensing (it was published in something without permission), but generally accepted.

 

Alright, so his name IS unofficially Khamir Sarin? Alright, I guess I can go with that if its accurate and accepted.

Now any information about his past? Like was he a Jedi? If so who trained him?

Or anything on family would be appreciated. I'd like to keep it accurate and make him give into passion and stuff that would expose him to the Dark Side.

 

I think he was taken from Iridonia at a young age by Sidious and trained. I don't remember. And I forget where I read where Maul's name was...but i didn't know it was unofficial.

 

New Essential Guide to Characters doesn't mention the name, but it says Maul was taken from Iridonia as an infant by Darth Sidious, who wanted to get him before the Jedi could. He had exhausting physical training even as a child, as well as psychological indoctrination. "On one occasion, as punishment for flinching at a dinko's bite, Sidious filled young Maul's quarters with scores of dinkos and locked him in the room until he had killed every one".
As the final step in his training Maul was sent to a planet in the Outer Rim. It was covered with swamps, deserts, and mountains. Maul was ordered to survive a month against assassin droids. This occurred several years before Naboo.

 

Alright, so Maul was never a Jedi. That works for me. I guess I could always add a bit of things right? Like in the downtime of his training or something?

 

i doubt Maul had much downtime... but ya. sounds like a good fic

 

You might want to check out the Darth Maul Journal- (or something like that.) I forget what the real title was, but it was like his journal when he was training to be a Sith. It tells a lot about his background.
