Is Chancellor Valorum Darth Plagueis? I've heard this around and wondered..maybe he really is..after he was taken from office, he wasn't seen again. That could have been when Sideous killed him in his sleep. He also came from Naboo with Palpatine, so very well could have trained him in the Dark Arts there.
    Seem possible?

Strilo edit: This could easily have been posted in the Quick Questions thread.

Plagueis DIED MANY years before the phantom menace.

This is also doesn't make sense because of the Sith rule of 2. If Palptine's master was alive during TPM..then NO WAY could he be training Maul.

    This is ridiculous
He wasn't seen again because he was no longer needed as a character.

The Rule of Two wouldn't prevent Sidious from training Maul, it would just mean that Maul couldn't be considered a bona fide Sith Lord just yet.

Sidious did take maul in when he himself was his apprentice(he took maul in as an infant) but Valorum was not Plagieus because Maul was the Sith Aprrentice by the time of TPM and Valorum was still alive. Valorum did not die until at several months after the battle of Genosis from AOTC(around the time of the Battle of Jabimm in the Comics.) killed in a terrorist attack planned by Sidious and perpatrated by the Separtists. By that time Dooku was the Apprentice) Palpatine Killed his master in his sleep Probably long before Maul was even ready to be sent on missions by Sids.

Yes it would have. Don't you think if Plagueis was alive during TPM he would know that Sidious was training an apprentice. If this were the case he would have probably killed Maul a long time ago. No more than two ever exist at a time...they will destroy each other if they do.

Also if Valorum was Plagueis..how come we never get to see him in his undercover sith robes like we do Palpatine?

The fact is Plagueis had been dead for about 25 years (depending on Maul's age) before TPM takes place.

If you can never have two sith at a time then what was Ventress? Or Grievous?

These two were NOT sith. No force powers on Grievous' part. Grievious is not even a full living being.

Though Ventress longed to identify herself as a Sith, she did not receive Sith training. While Dooku helped hone her talents, he taught her none of the knowledge unique to the Sith. (SW.com)
