The Dark Lord’s ascension continues! The zombie battledroids look reminds me a little of the Geonosis level in Rebel Strike
I've only seen information for the 4 issues and the TPB (said to be in Oct). If that changes, I'll revise the thread title.
This first arc is 6 issues. http://www.previewsworld.com/Home/1/1/71/918?articleID=156527 Scroll down to Darth Vader, there will be 2 issues listed as #1 (of 6) and #2 (of 6).
It's hard to conclude anything definite from that listing though, as you could read it as meaning there are just 6 issues and it's a miniseries only! I'd go with the trade page count instead, as a general rule: 136-144 pages: 6 issues. Had thought 136 was 5 issues, but that actually works out around the 112 page mark, with 4 issues being around 96 pages.
Yeah I dunno what happened last night. 2ndQuest discovered PreviewsWorld's solicits after having 5 energy drinks and went off the deep end. Must have been a good Friday.
Jedi-Bibliothek's databank says the first arc is called Vader and I think it is six issues. Since the Skywalker Strikes is likely to be six issues and collected in September. If the main series has a six-issue arc, the companion would likely be a six-issue arc to emphasize the other story. Vader #1 is probably starting at the end of Star Wars #6 since Star Wars #4 is where Luke goes back to Obi-Wan's hut on Tatooine and Vader is probably following him. Plus, the preview for Vader #1 has him speaking to Jabba on Tatooine.
What I want to know is what's going on with the battle droids. Who reactivated them and why are they zombified?
Well, it seems an intro arc could be 5-6 issues for any Star Wars series at Marvel and it's awesome that the story could take that long. Generates readers to anticipate and useful marketing for people to read a monthly story. Like a monthly book club except it's only the reader and the comic each time.
Nice bit of work. Wouldn't deem it spoiler info though, it gives away nothing, it's merely a very cool Vader image!
I put it in a spoiler tag cause the picture is large. I was commented a few days before about the same thing
What does he need battle droids for? What is meant by "his army"? Will we get zombie Nute Gunrary? I WANT TO KNOW! lol serious though I am curious. and also I notice marvel Star Wars comics have ratings.(Rated T) Is this common among comics or is this just Disney? I only read Star Wars ones so I don't know and I never saw ratings on dark horse ones.
Marvel has had a ratings system in place for years, long before they were owned by Disney. EDIT: Don't put too much faith in it however, they've published stuff like this: (spoiler for gore) Spoiler And rated it T!
I usually trade wait but it's been nice reading a series monthly for a change. I'll probably get the trades of Star Wars and Vader as well as I've really enjoyed them both so far.
