I know from reading the Death Star Book, and researching other source material, Death Star Haynes Manual, and West End Games Death Star Companion Book that there was a Medical Bay on the Death Star. My question is did the Death Star Medical Bay have white walls, floors, and ceilings, or were they dark grey/black like the pictures from the movie and other sources? I can't seem to find anything confirming if it was white, written and/or pictures. Can anyone confirm or deny this information in either writing or pictures? The pictures I find are just diagrams or pictures are in black and white (West End Games DS Companion Manual). We know the Rebel Medical Bays were white from Hoth and the Medical Frigate "Redemption". Does this carry over to the Empire as well? The color white is typically symbolic for a Medical Bay/Hospital. Just would like confirmation for a Medical facility on the DS. Need to know for a project I am working on. Any my help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The comic-version of Alan D. Foster's "Splinter of the the Mind's Eye" shows an imperial med-bay in white, although that was a planetary installation. The medical officer however wore grey/olive (so it could also be, that the artist was to lazy to colour the back-ground). And of course there is the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Centre from ROTS, which is black (although that might just be the secret part of the facility).
In Star Wars 19: The Ultimate Gamble, there was a hospital aboard the space station Wheel. Although the Wheel had not always been Imperial, it was at that time. (Don't remember how it looked liken but I can search for pics later today.) I don't know what kind of project you have, but you might want to know about the red sigil, the canon Star Wars equivalent of the Red Cross insignia.
Should actually still have the same look given that the Death Star like most Imperial stuff was built from pre-assembled modules. Here is the pic of it from the comic.
Is he taking a selfie? --------------- Aren't there med-bays in certain video games? Surely there's at least one in the Battlefront or Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. I know TIE Fighter shows this hover bed when you get shot down, and the Force Unleashed features a level with a med-bay on board the Empirical; you can probably find footage of it on YouTube.
Here are life support capsules aboard the ISD Devastator. The coloring was wacky back then, but the appearance of things might still be helpful.
He is checking what is left of his face, after Luke threw an entire grenade belt at him. Wasn’t that more of a lab then a med bay? Though here is a pic of it.
Note the darker panels here (Shira Brie recovers under FX9's care aboard the Executor) Under spoiler tag because it's big. Spoiler
Thanks for the pictures and information. It is very helpful. Still on the fence of making it white or light gray. Keep the info and pictures coming.
The Imperials have a medical bay? Is it just an airlock? "Stubbed toe? Here's a cure for what ails ya!" "Hey, what?" *FWOSH!*
