I need the expertise of fellow collectors!

I sold a Padme Unleashed doll on eBay recently, and the high bidder is now complaining of a small crease in the top corner of the board that the figure is on. She is stating that I misrepresented the auction because I said it was "MIB".

To the best of my knowledge, there was no noticable damage to the package, any more than one would find on any package in the store.

The definition I have always gone with for "MIB" is (courtesy of VirtualDolls.com):
Mint in Box: Doll/Toy is complete with all tags, clothing and accessories that originally came with it. Everything, including box is in 'store new' condition.
    -or-
MIB: Mint in Box. Refers to the fact that the original box is included with the doll. The doll may be mint in the box, but this doesn't mean the BOX IS MINT.

I was just wondering if other people agree with this? In my experience with SW figures, etc. a very slight crease in the board corner does not detract from the value of the toy. Only severe damage would. The term "MIB" refers to the item, not it's package.

    What do you all think?

First things first. this is in the wrong forum. Moderator, please move.

While I would want to know if there was a crease in it before I purchased on it, it's up to me (as the buyer) to find out before hand. If you would have said the item was MOMC (mint on mint card) and MIB or the person emailed you asking if it was MOMC as well, and you told them it was, than they would have a case. Unless neither of these two things happened, than you've nothing to worry about. A collector should be more careful next time. Besides, that toy was made to open anyway. How could a guy not want to tear it from it's box and caress her...uh...nevermind.

First of all ROFL at your comment on the wanting to tear the package open! We opened the one we kept and displayed it.

Anyways, to the best of my knowledge, there was no creasing worth noting in any listing. We sold an Anakin as well, and there was a crease on this one, and we did note that in the listing.

But you have answered my question. I just wanted to back up my thoughts with a second opinion before emailing the high bidder back.

And since this is apparently not in the right forum (I didn't know where to post and don't venture outside this one too often!) I will now lock the thread.

    Thanks! [face_clown]
