    Hi there ...

some time ago I was googling through the net to find some maps of the Star Wars Galaxy ... I did find loads of different maps - some based on the official informations, some totaly fan-created ... but none where as detailed and (for me) spectacular as this part of the Rimma Trade Route ... (click on the highlighted square and examin the detailed 9 maps of this region)

It is supposed to rely on information from "Lords of the Expanse" - an old WEG book ... what I'd like to know is if you have simulare detailed maps - if there is a group of nerdy star wars freaks working on a detailed version of this wonderful galaxy far, far away ...

I know the Map from the insider (the one with the nice pictures of the planets) as I'm a mad Star Wars Galaxies player and that map was published for the release of SWG (all planets for SWG are listed yellow in the map - except Dantooine, which was only announced shortly after this map was created) ...

The Nav Computer is quite interesting. It has some sector-maps that I have not seen so far. But the big galaxy chart is also an idealized scetch ... hyperspace routs are quasi-straight lines, "hidden" "secret" planets such as dagobah or endor are directly on these popular trade routs ...

If you compare this map of the elrood sector from the nav-computer you see that this map seams authentic ... only it has further neighboring regions with detailed sector maps (plus I find the hexagon map far more easy to comprehend scale and orientation - it just looks so much cooler ;) ) ...

Now I'd like to see the whole galaxy in such a detailed form, but I guess that would be quite some project for enthusiasts, as projecting the elrood sector onto the whole galaxy would lead to a hexagon map with 300x300 to 500x500 cells ... including over 50.000 stars (going from the average amount of stars in the elrood sector)

Wizards of the Coast released a mini-Galaxy Guide (Galactic Gazeteer) for the Hoth/Javin area of the Galaxy here

I've never seen a map that doesn't have Dagobah just off (or on in the case of the one in the RCRB or the official one posted before) the Rimma Trade Route and the Sactuary Pipeline to Endor isn't exactly a "popular trade routs [sic]."

    Hi,

I just came across this thread and wanted to answer any questions about the map on my site. Sorry it's so long in coming.

All planet locations in blue come from official maps directly. All planets in blue come from references in official sources directly. I do not put guesses on my site (they have their own page).

The map of the Perlemian that is shown on http://users.bigpond.net.au is from the Tapani Sector box set, and I have incorporated that info into my map. My map of the Elrood Sector is based on the officially released map of the sector, but I've added Alluvia based on info from Operation Elrood, and Tantra based on the map from the Tapani Sector box set.

The other planets on that map are not showing up in any database that I've seen and are almost definitely fan creations.

Let me know if you have any other questions about my site.

You know... In Star Wars Galaxies, the map of the Universe they use in the travel terminals seem very different than the one of the game in Star Wars Insider. The biggests difference is where Lok is in comparison to Tatooine. Has anyone else noticed that?

There was a galactic map as a poster insert in one of the Star Wars Gamer magazines. I'll look through my stuff tomorrow and try to see which one it was. From what I can remember it was detailed and good-looking, with hyperspace times.
