That he stole in AOTC? Jedi's are supposed to be noble. Did Obi Wan make Anakin return the speeder, or did Ben?

Even though it is never directly explained any where, we can safely assume, as you said, that Obi Wan made him return it.

Who did it belong to? Was it owned by the Naboo government? Was it reported stolen?

Anakin and Obi-Wan probably flew it back to where they took it from and walked back to Padme's apartment.

Well, they had to get back to Padme's. It'd take too long to get up to the upper levels where an air taxies are. As pointed out, Obi-wan would want it returned. Though he probably piloted them back instead of Anakin.

That seems logical. Weren't they close to Anakin's air taxi?

    They either:

    a) Returned it to where they found it as they needed to get back to Padme's place somehow.

    or

    b) Forgot about it and coruscant tow operators removed it from a no standing zone and the owner had to fork out big credits to retrieve it.

That's not an air taxi. That was a senator's speeder that Anakin swiped. He needed a speeder that didn't have it's doors locked or had a roof to it. The speeder he took matched his criteria, which he says jokingly to Obi-wan.

He stole it in that Senate building. He and Obi-Wan probably used it to get back to Padme's apartement, and Anakin probably put the speeder in the place where he had found it in the first place.

Nope. If you watch AotC on your PC, you get a special feature called Holonet. It gives you some completely stupid stories, but it includes the fact that a yellow sprts speeder that had only just been found after having been stolen once had been stolen again, and had been seen chasing another speeder, but after that had dropped out of sight. At least, that's how I remember it.

He probably told Obi-Wan that he took it back.

But most likley because it was "official Jedi business" Jedi could use stuff and return it in less than good condition. Jedi were wreckless and careless, in this case ruining the internal electrical components (via power-rod towers) and running the engines hot at unsafe speeds as well as causing structural damage to the craft in question.

I could imagine them returning the speeder in a crappy condition in the parking lot and whistleing as they sneak out of the parking lot.

Obi-Wan: "Uh, Anakin, aren't you forgetting something?"
    Anakin: "What, master?"
    ** Obi-Wan holds up Anakin's lightsaber **
Obi-Wan: "Evidence, my young apprentice. You don't leave your lightsaber behind at the scene of a felony."
Anakin: "Master, I think I see someone coming..."
    Obi-Wan: "Run!"

    From the AOTC Incredible Cross-Sections:

The sophisticated and gaudy airspeeder expresses the qualities of its youthful owner, Simon Greyshade, the newly risen Senator for the Vorzyd sector.

    From the airspeeder's databank entry:

After Anakin borrowed the craft, Senator Greyshade, unaware of the situation, was livid and called the authorities. Investigating officers arrested an innocent but suspicious-looking youth, Reymet Autem, son of a Senate security guard. Though Autem was innocent of this crime, it was only one of the earlier incidents in what would prove to be a very checkered life.

According to Inside the Worlds of Episode II, it was a senate apartment complex. The balcony with the speeders was several floors down from Padme's apartment. I believe Anakin's movement from the apartment to the balcony is shown in the AOTC novelization.

And to confirm the speeder's return to the complex:

Thanks to a hyper-accurate tracking device built into the vehicle of speeder-enthusiast Senator Greyshade (Vorzyd), the one-of-a-kind custom flying machine was recovered within 30 minutes of being stolen from a Senatorial Quarters parkway.

--from Senate Speeder Thief Arrested in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #56

So it would appear Anakin and Obi-Wan just left it there. Not very responsible for a Jedi.

It was Zam's speeder that crashed, not the yellow flying hotrod.

Well...My memory may be fuzzy but how does Anakin get hurt then. I remember him holding his ribs after they crash/land...he pursues Zam but is injured. I swear I remember him doing a roll and smacking into something.

he rolled off into some boxes. not a far fall for a Jedi, but if he wasnt bracing himself for it it would hurt.

Who drove it back to return it though? I doubt Obi wanted Anakin driving since OBi's nerves were most likely on edge from anakins driving. So if Obi decided to be the driver on the way back that would be wrong as well, We all know that OBI HAD BEEN DRINKING!!!

He would of been a target of MADJDS mothers against drunk jedi driving speeders.

Obi had one little drink of the blue stuff...which could have been a shot.

But his blood alcohol level was probably still in legal limits after one drink...It's like having one beer. It wouldn't matter...plus with a mind of a Jedi it would prob take alot of those for him to become unfocused.

You can get behind the wheel as long as you BLA is under the legal limits. One beer wouldn't be enough to affect your driving abilities.

Since the quote from the Holonet News article I provided uses the word, "recover," it doesn't particularly sound like either of Zam's pursuers returned the vehicle to the complex (although it would be interesting to know how they got back to the Temple or wherever themselves). It sounds more like the authorities found it.
