I sure as hell did. I was 13 when it came out and I completely fell in love with her. I was actually depressed for weeks thinking about the fact that I would never be with her.

I would constantly watch TPM on vhs just to see Natalie Portman, having slow internet at my house those days I would go to my friends house after school to use his internet to look up Natalie Portman. I remember she turned 21 on June 6th 2002, I celebrated...

I will always respect AOTC for giving me these feelings. At the time I had no problems with the love story, I thought it was perfect. I even thought the fireside scene was beautiful and when Padme confessed her love to Anakin before being taken into the arena... Wow

Nah, my childhood movie star crush will always be Joanne Whalley in Willow. :p

Although I will say that Portman was especially charming in the picnic scene. Despite the grand surroundings and attire this scene always strikes me as surprisingly down to earth and naturalistic compared to the usual brand of Star Wars romance.

Yeah I liked Padme but right now Rey has took over the top spot as my favorite Star Wars girl. [face_laugh]

I'd been smitten with her since Beautiful Girls, but she pretty much embodied everything I could admire in a woman in AOTC.

I've always thought she was beautiful. Ever since I saw her in AOTC in 2003 or 2004, when I was a kid, I was like 'Who is this super pretty and sophisticated lady? George really cast her well!' Didn't fall in love with her or anything but she's one of the American actresses who I've known about since my early childhood (2000) so whenever I saw her when I was younger she always stood out to me as 'that pretty Star Wars lady'. Of course, as I grew up I learnt who she was and have seen her in many movies but she will always be the Star Wars lady for me, haha.

Something I remember from last year: I showed my family the entire Star Wars saga since they'd never seen it (except my mom who had seen SW back in 1977 in the theater, but hadn't seen the rest) and the main reaction that my sister and mom had to Natalie was to oooh and ahhh over all her pretty dresses from all the 3 movies and get all girly and keep saying how beautiful she was and how sweet and delicate she looked. :p

There are some scenes in AOTC that her tight white outfit shows off more than it should.

I fell in love with Padme because of the theme music of her that John Williams composed both Attack of the clones and Revenge of the Sith. I knew I could not have her as a girlfriend so I tried to find girls that have similar flaws like her. No joke either.

But Natalie portman herself, nah not really.

    @Padmes_love_slave24, please continue!

As to the question of the thread: YES. She is incredibly lovely! I was in my early 20s when AOTC came out, and... well, YES. The answer is an affirmative and unequivocal yes.

She was and is a beautiful woman - doing okay so far, but let me just remind everyone not to take the turn down to inappropriate, especially with images, or this thread will go bye-bye quickly.

I've always felt a pull towards her- not just because of Star Wars, but Anywhere But Here, which she filmed just after TPM. She's got such a natural grace and elegance to her that I don't think a lot of the modern actresses have, at least not in the same way. I could stare at her for hours. She was on an episode of Top Chef in the first like..couple of seasons it was on. She was so charming and funny...and PERVY! I loved it.

Anywhere But Here! I forgot about that movie. I have it on VHS somewhere lol. I 'd seen The Professional, Heat, Beautiful Girls before her casting in SW, but playing Padme the way she did in AOTC definitely furthered my girl-crush on her. She was strong, beautiful, independent. Wonderful actress.

I know two girls that remind me of Padme/Portman.

And that's why Cryo's head is in such turmoil. :p

Yes. Well, not to the point of being creepy, but yes. Oh, the woes of being both a cinephile and a male. I crushed hard on Diane Lane from The Outsiders and Streets of Fire, Phoebe Cates from Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Gremlins, Mia Sara from Legend and Ferris Beuller's Day Off; Joanne Whalley as Sorsha, Molly Ringwald as, well, Molly Ringwald; 90s Drew Barrymore, 2000s Scarlett Johansson ...in the immortal words of teen Anakin: "It's not fair!"

And Portman can certainly be added to the list. Never has the description "classicalist beauty" been more apt; physically, of course, but likewise by virtue of her natural grace, poise, internalized sophistication and demure countenance offset intermittently by flashes of playfulness and down-to-earth vibes—like a sportier, 'campus girl' version of Audrey Hepburn. The PT (Episode II in particular) only went further in elevating such a trophy status to idyllic, unattainable 'space-fantasy forbidden fruit'. You really gotta hand it to Lucas in casting her. Honestly, I cannot think of another actress her age better honed by all things invisible hands of renaissance to have ever matched the role so perfectly. Even with Palpatine chewing scenery and Anakin burning like a hot coal, I might further argue that if the Prequels belong to, are defined by, a sole character, such would nonetheless be Padme.

Does her character definition not parallel that of said trilogy? Complexly beautiful, yet distant, beyond reach?
