Soon after arriving at the forest moon of Endor, Chewbacca used his crossbow to blast a stormtrooper trying to leave on his speeder. Did Chewie ever fire his crossbow at any other time in any of the OT movies?
Are you sure? I watched that part last night, and that didn't look like Chewie's crossbow. In fact, Lando handed Chewie a blaster that he took from a stormtrooper. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?
I watched those scenes last night as well, and it didn't look like the crossbow. Han and Luke handed Chewbacca a blaster right after that Imperial officer told them that he'd have to confirm the prisoner transfer.
In ANH, Chewie never fires his bowcaster, but he does in the slug in TESB. But for the most part, the weapons that he winds up using are the large Stormtrooper rifles. The DLT-19. This is what Chewie uses on the Death Star. In TESB, he uses the standard E-11 blaster that was taken from the Stormtroopers escorting them. Chewie shoots at the Mynock at 2:06.
Chewbacca never used his crossbow blaster in ANH. He only used it once in TESB, twice in ROTJ. Lucas has stated that the weapon is powerful before the release of ROTJ, and in interview in the early 1990's. Since it was used rarely, it became an iconic weapon.

Before the chase started with the imperial scouts is one, he did not use it when the team was freed. I believe you are right only once in ROTJ, though he shot more than once at the scout.
Scott109 Can you please specify which door? The door to the deflector shield bunker control room was opened with a blast, but unless that was a charge it would have been Solo's blaster.
