Did Harrison Ford narrate the ESB trailer??

Not the teaser that is just concept art, but the main trailer. I sounds like hhim doing a hoaky 1930s voice over.

I'm 90% sure its HF, does anyone know for sure?

 

If it was, he must've been seriously hyped-up on the blackest of black coffee that day. It sounds so peppy, I have a hard time imagining Ford being like that...he's a bit too laid back to sound quite that squeaky with excitement.

 

But this is young Harrison ford before he became boring. Look at that outtake from ANH where him fisher and Hamill are shouting at Lucas "the mic was in picture!"

The narration sounds exactly like in Raiders when he says "its a date, you eat em!"

 

Sounds like Mark to me. the first sounds like Ford but then sounds like Mark

 

I think Harrison was asked to do it, so he decided to it in the most un-Harrison voice possible, so he wouldn't be recognised.

I do think it's him, but he *does* sounds very excited.

Thats exactly what I thought when I was watching the ESB trailer......Is that Harrison,he sounds giddy!!

 

I love how ESB is supposedly so dark and grown-up yet it has a campy as Hell Flash Gordon trailer. I love it! Reminds you of the classic serial nature of the series

 

The very first time I saw that trailer I thought it was Harrison Ford. It sounds like the voice he used when he was portraying that Imperial in the walker to fool them to open the door to the bunker so they could get in, in RotJ.

I only realized that was Han posing as the imperial a couple days ago, I always thought it was just some no name rebel commando.

I'm glad somebody else noticed it, I thought I was imagining things for a second...

 

^^^Same with me, I thought it sounded like him and my friend thought it was somebody else.

 

There are a lot of people who seem to be CONVINCED that it was Harrison Ford who narrated the trailer, but I really don't think it was him...I don't think it sounds like him at all, but it does sound like the guy who has been doing the voice overs for trailers for something like 30 years. I can't remember the guys name, but he is there in pretty much every trailer done in the last 20-30 years, although at times, you probably haven't realised it since he has about 4 or 5 different voice styles. I know for a certainty he did the trailer for the SE trailer back in 1996/1997, and I think it is him who did the 1979/1980 trailer voice over too.

I will try to confirm that.

 

Wow! Did he do the others also? They all seem to sound like that jive-talk'n cold brotha "ACTION HANK" from Dexter's lab.

No, that's in the Teaser trailer.

He's in the Launch trailer and overcompensates by saying "Lan-DO Calrissian".

 

Hoakey trailers and ancient special effects are no match for a good sarcastic delivery.



I laughed through the whole thing -

 

I wasn't quite sure at first it was Harrison, but when he says "THE EMPIRRRRRRE STRRRIKES BAAAACK" his voice sounds a lot closer to his normal voice there, so I'm pretty sure it is him who did that voiceover.
