I rate this at topic #234624524 I never thought I'd see.

Actually, Fisher commented on ANH somewhat regarding the issue. When she had the wear the white Senate gown, she couldn't wear a bra - according to Lucas, "underwear doesn't exist in space." (Which, I'm sure, was just a tease, but you get the idea.) So, instead, she had to wear strips of tape to cover under the outfit...which is a good thing, if you want to make a movie and have a girl in white dress drop into a wet garbage compactor and still have it PG. ;)

I can't believe i'm doing this, but, production wise, Lucas felt that Leia wouldn't wear a bra in Star Wars, posssibly because of her white dress thing in ANH.

Lucas actually said something to this affect.

As Chaotic_Serenity said, there is no underwear in Star Wars only gaffer tape. A gaffer, if you didn't know, is a stage electrition. However there is not a single shot you can tell

GL gaffer taped (think duct tape, except stronger) Leia's, err, womanhood down to make her appear more "like a princess".

uh I loved the fact she wasn't wearing a bra in ANH. Watching her run in the Death Star still excites me. too bad Carrie Fisher didn't age well.

The new photoreceptor shows her in her ewok-made clothes, but with a slit that goes all the way up to...well, where there should be Alderaanian panties, but arent. maybe she wore an Alde-thong.

Wonder how it worked on Hoth, since it's pretty cold. I don't think just the pants in blistering tundra would do the trick. Need some kind of multilayer coverings for sure.

I suppose tape would work for a bra replacement, but I hope they don't replace underwear with it......bikini wax.....

...Leia wore plain white underwear, with; "Her Highness-ness", written across the back. She alternated with black ones that said; "Your Worship", across the front.

What's this "photoreceptor" thing/site/place you're all talking about, and can someone also say why this question even came up?

Why would she? She had metal panties. This is the way it works in show biz. Nothing to get excited about.

I am also wondering what this "Photoreceptor" is. Is it a Hyperspace thing? An online newsletter? an actual newsletter?

It's a Hyperspace thing. If you go to the OS, you will se a link to the latest Photoreceptor, which is a pic of Leia hanging out with the ewoks(the one described above).
