I certainly have not read the full library, yet, so I would like to know if Luke and Chewbacca ever compared notes about their fellow little green man. Which book was it?

Nope, as far as I know, Luke never knew that Chewbacca knew Yoda.

If it's dealt with anywhere, it'll be in Shadows of Mindor, which as far as I know is the first book released after Revenge of the Sith set in the period after Luke met Yoda but before Chewie's unfortunate trip to Sernpidal's moon.

They probably talked about Yoda. We just haven't seen it in print. Chewie could also tell him about the time Qui Gon and young Obi Wan helped him and his dad Itchy set up and defend a wookiee colony on Alaris Prime.

They should release an updated version of Vector Prime where Chewie says something like, "Hey, Luke, I just remembered a vast amount of information about the Jedi including Yoda that, for some unknown reason, I never told you. I'll tell you all about it once I get back from this moon..."

Yeah, Chewie's involvement with the Jedi during the Clone Wars really doesn't make any sense considering how he hardly notices that he had one of the last remaining Jedi on board his ship in ANH.

Eh, but Kenobi went straight to talk to Chewie before talking to Han....

That's probably because Han was sitting in some booth in the back while Chewie was right at the bar and at least a head taller than almost everyone else.

Why bother a Jedi when he's trying to train another one? Anyways Obi Wan talked to him in the cantina.

For all we know, Chewie's side of the conversation with Obi-Wan consisted of 'I love jedi, I'll introduce you to my captain right away.' And unless the trip to Alderaan took 5 minutes we saw in the movie, they easily could've discussed stuff off-camera.

He was referred to Chewbacca by BoShek, who was right next to Chewie at the bar.

I don't think Yoda and Chewbacca were very outspoken about their... uh... relations.

This would make a great chapter in a coming book. Nice idea!

hard to say what "conversations" Luke and Chewie have EVER had.

Wookie/human interaction seems to be a lot of small talk and statements.

One of the reasons KOTORs long winded dialog with the Wookie subplot seemed weird...wookies don't talk like that...especially to other species.

    _______

Anyway...I think yoda is compartmentalized part of each of their lives...Chewie knew him back in the days of the Clone Wars...but that part of his life is behind him...Luke knew him in his Jedi training, something which describing or discussing in the company of even Han would be strange...so the likelihood of Chewie being privy on the matter seems remote.

However, the possibility to exists...so perhaps...Chewie forgot yoda? Perhaps he recalls a Jedi helping them in the war but can't recall his name?

I guess it's all speculation...right down to the theories on "obi knew Chewie" in the Cantina stuff.

Who knows what the walking carpet might have revealed if he opened his mouth more.

I highly doubt that Chewie would ever forget Yoda. Chewie was only in his 200's, so it would be at least another two or three hundred years before he got old and senile. And using as Kotor as a basis for all Wookiees and their conversational skills and habits is kinda silly imo.

just because you forget something doesn't mean you're going senile.

I have worked side by side with people for months...a couple years pass...I can't draw their name to the surface...and I really liked some of them.

In the blur of a life that wookie had during the "blip" that was the clone wars to VP era for him...he came across a LOT of faces.

It's nothing short of miraculous the Big 3 remember some of the obscure people that turn up from time to time.

That's true, but it seems that Yoda and Chewie were on good terms, and were in battle together, so I kinda doubt he would completly forget him. It's possible that he did, but kinda unlikely.

I've done the same, but in my case, I don't care to remember most people's names, but I still remember the person.

Isn't it great that Han and Lando weren't in ROTS like they were going to be? ;)

That would have been a mess. I'm glad that they weren't in ROTS, but it would have been hilarious to see them in a deleted scene or on a blooper reel as two ten year olds( give or take a few years) playing some sabaac.

Is there even a passage where Luke is talking about Yoda while Chewbacca is around?
I don't remember Luke being all that talkative when it comes to Yoda.

R2 didn't feel the need to talk about Anakin and Padme for some decades either, nor do I remember him ever telling Luke that he had met Yoda before. So it's not like you have to talk about it, especially when there isn't much to talk about in the first place.

Just because we don't see it( or read it) doesn't mean it didn't or couldn't happen.:)
