    NO.

His game of Russian Roulette went as planned. He pulled the trigger a few times at his head and the last time he aimed away and the single bullet hit a sand bag. He survived.

Problem is, why did Derren aim the gun away once BEFORE the end when it was not loaded. Thats against the rules of RR. Did he muck the trick up? Let me explain what I mean - Derren fired the gun a couple of times at his head (with about 15 seconds in between) then fired it away from himself, but it was blank. Then he waited about a minute and fired it really quick twice, again at his head (it was blank) and again away from himself and it went off. But surely he was not meant to fire away from himself the first time?!! Did he think THAT was the bullet?

Did you watch it? Did YOU see the weird 'mistake' Im talking about?!! Comments Please...

Personally, I think he made the mistake on purpose to create a bit of doubt in your head as to whether he would kill himself or not. It certainly worked for me and the rest of my housemates.

Much respect to the man though

I read that too! He'd be playing a bloody darlek!!

Definately Alan Davies (Johnothan Creek) should play the role. He's the best we have.

Its very doubtful that Tom Baker would resume Dr Who, would be good but his character would be too similar to the 3rd doc and he cant be the 3rd again as he doesnt look the part anymore.

On Alan Davies I think he will be very good in it.

Derren Brown isn't actually a magian, he never claims that his tricks are nothing more then tricks of reading small psyhocolical(sp?) signs that we all have without knowing. He is brilliant at what he does, and is no Blaine who thinks he is doing things that 'tell us more about the human souls', crap. He's a fool in a box.

Why he did it was either one of 2 things, as MCR pointed to increase tension (which it did at my mates house, also a lot of halarity as he stared into space) or because he read the signs slightly wrong, I mean he was under a lot of pressure, but he got it right eventually

LOL so people actually watched that?

    Shameful.
What does it say about those who watched it? Makes out people to be rather sick.

Good I was watching Waking the Dead or whatever it was on BBC1.
I don't want to see a man try to shoot himself, sick bravado....

Check the title of the thread, it says 'Magician'. Those marks either side of the word mean I dont consider him a magician. But your probably talking to those other people who think he is. Anyway...

    :)

Yes, the italicised quote (as above) means I was referring to the person who made that quote - in this case Ramble_Boba.

I was talking to him!! Nout to do with the italics, I was talking about the 'quote' marks. You just misunderstood what I wrote. Nevermind.

There was nothing sick about the program, channel 4 wouldnt have actually shown Derren if he had blown his brains out, there was a slight delay. The entire program was interesting and funny, Derren is probably the best illusionist (or whatever) around. The last ten minutes of the program were definately the best thing to have been on in the last year.

Here's why he was NEVER in danger of blowing his brains out:

    BBC NEWS

    'No-one endangered' by gun stunt

Derren Brown's show did not break Jersey gun rules
Jersey police have indicated that the live Russian roulette TV stunt which was broadcast from the island on Sunday night was a hoax.
Illusionist Derren Brown asked another person to load a revolver with one bullet in the Channel 4 show filmed at Francheville Farm, Grouville.

Brown then pointed the gun at his own head, and pulled the trigger a number of times, stopping when he guessed the gun would fire.

Superintendent John Pearson said Jersey police were informed of the stunt before it took place.

However, having examined how the stunt would work, they were satisfied it would not break any of the island's gun laws.

We were absolutely satisfied that... no-one was in any danger whatsoever

    Superintendent John Pearson

Asked if he had been concerned that somebody was going to fire a loaded gun at their head, he said: "If what was portrayed on TV was going to happen, then we did have concerns.

"So a senior officer contacted Channel 4 and then we found out.

"We were absolutely satisfied that, firstly, there would no offences committed in Jersey in relation to any laws at all and secondly, that no-one was in any danger whatsoever."

Mr Pearson said that to hold a firearm "that could fire a lethal shot" on the island would have required a licence and the programme makers did not have a licence.

    Media alert

Asked whether that meant it was not a real gun, he said: "It is not for me to go into the intricacies of what Channel 4 did to make this programme.

"All I can reassure you is that we are entirely satisfied that no offences were committed."

Handguns are illegal in the UK, but Mr Pearson pointed out that certain firearm legislation in Jersey was in fact tougher than the UK. For instance, unlike the UK, it was illegal to hold an airgun in Jersey without a licence.

He added that the Jersey police had contacted Channel 4 after being alerted by a national newspaper that the show was to be filmed on the island.

Channel 4 would only say in a statement: "In making and broadcasting this programme, Channel 4 was very mindful of its responsibility to ensure the safety of all involved and liaised with the Jersey police in advance of filming there to ensure that no offences were committed."

It's no more sick than watching David Copperfield getting cut in half with a chainsaw etc

I heard the bullet was a blank!

Never mind that, you have to feel sorry for the person sitting beside him. What happens if he pulled the trigger and it went bang? The other person would have either go hit by the bullet as well, or at least get covered in his brain matter! Ewwwwww! That **** gets in your clothes and it stinks! :p

Besides, this doesn't hold a candle to the greatest trick in history! David Copperfield sleeping with Claudia Schiffer! :p
