Did riding the Shaak help Anakin when he rode the reek?

I was always trying to find a way where riding the Shaak was an important, although supposedly a fun moment for Anakin and Padme.

Well, I think in a way, it did help Anakin somehow confidentally ride the Reek, although first he struggled.

What do you think?

 

When riding the Shaak Anakin was trying to impress Padme. Thats the only importance of it.

I don't think his Shaak riding helped him when it came the time to ride the Reek. They are very different animals and his style was completely different.

Maybe falling off the Reek and pretending to be hurt would've gotten Anakin another roll-around with Padme

 

Only to have it end in a hail of laser-fire because they let their gaurd down...

 

That's funny, because I was watching OTC today...and thought the same thing.

This was the reason I was bringing this up. Firstly, not many would even consider it as a connection atleast to what happens later in the movie.

I digress that and say that it is just a coincidence, in the sense, Anakin rides something for fun, then he rides something which is a matter of life and death (albeit style and form obviously very different, when it comes to the riding part).

Ofcourse, there is the idea that one can find any connections they want . But nevertheless I like to take it as a connection, in any case. And that there was indeed a reason for those scenes, not only as a fun aspect, but a premonition, if you like.

 

Did it help him ride the Shaak? I can't say...but I know for certain that it didn't help him "ride the lightning" later in the movie.

I agree though. Anakin should have fallen off the Reek in order to extract sympathy from Dooku.

Anakin's riding the reek gracefully until it bucks hard, sending Anakin to the ground. He doesn't move, obviously quite hurt.

DOOKU: Stop! Stop everything!

Dooku runs down to check on the Jedi.

DOOKU: Annie! Annie my boy! Are you ok?

Anakin turns over, laughing.

DOOKU: Oh you scallywag!

I don't think the two moments have anything in common. Anakin was showing off for Padme' when he was riding the Shaak. Riding the Reek was clearly a life and death situation.
