Did the Ewoks devote their religion to Threepio?

They thought he was a God! Do Ewok stories tell of the golden God that came from above to wipe out the evil men in helmets?

 

Anything's possible, but according to EU, if you "believe in it," the Imperials exterminated the Ewoks after the battle some time. Kinda doesnt leave any Ewoks to do any worshipping.

 

I've read pratically all the EU and I can't recall it being mentioned anywhere that the Ewoks were exterminated by the Empire. I do know that there was a 'Tales' story that dealt with an Ewok holocaust, but Tales isn't in the official timeline unless mentioned in a more official work.

At any rate, the Ewoks probably did revere Threepio after they left, but what kind of stories they wrote about their new God is beyond me.

 

One of the X-Wing books, I believe it was Wedge's Gamble, talks about an exhibit in one of the museums on Coruscant that had a big propoganda spin on the Battle of Endor. The Emperor and Vader sacrificed themselves to destroy the Rebellion's Death Star. Somehow in the process the innocent little Ewoks had become "extinct," just so that the Rebels look even more evil.

and as far as the Ewoks worshipping C-3PO, IIRC the Ewok cartoons have the Ewokis looking upon luminous beings and items as holy. Stuff that gave off light, brought light to the world, etc. I always attributed Threepio's golden body to sort of fall under this category (in the eyes of the Ewoks) and hence their worship of him.

 

I think the Ewoks have a religion and their "God" looks like Threeps. Sort of like Christianity. If some dude looking like Jesus (could be Barry Gibb) came by and made things happen, we might think Christ has come. I think they think their Threeps has come to save them. From there, they wprship him as being the supreme being. Cool post! Good job!
