Did Yoda know when Obi Wan died?

Do you think Yoda felt the death of his old buddy, or maybe Yoda foresaw that Obi Wan would sacrifice himself for Luke's benefit at some point? Do you think Ben's spirit paid a visit to Dagobah? After all, Yoda doesn't seem shocked to hear Ben's voice in his hut, and we don't hear Luke ever say how he heard about Dagobah, etc.

 

I imagine Yoda felt Ben's death. Ben was someone that Yoda had worked with closely for a great many years and was one of the few surviving Jedi left. I'd imagine that he'd be able to feelt he death of a Jedi and then extrapolate who it was from knowing how many Jedi were left by ANH. (A handful if one believes EU or 2 if one does not).

 

Yeah i think he felt it. I wouldnt be surprised of ol' Ben even visted Yoda as a ghost telling him to expect Luke and filling him in on stuff.

I would imagine the first place that ole Obi-Wan went was Dagobah... they needed to decide how to watch Luke and know when he was ready to begin his training...

When Yoda says "Long time have I watched you..." I am assuming he is going on what Ben has told him...

You know, I'm kind of curious why Yoda and Obi-Wan were only communicating via the Force for all those years. Wouldn't it have made sense for them to settle on the same planet and plan together?

Anyway, I suppose Obi-Wan must have contacted Yoda somehow. I'm not sure if Force-users are automatically aware of one another's deaths, because the RotJ novelization makes it seem like Palpy wasn't sure of Yoda's status (unless he was only playing games with Luke).

Ben went to Tatooine to watch over Luke.

 

They also split up in case Vader found them... that way only one of them would die, the other would live...

Both on Tatooine is out of the question because Vader/Palpatine would have sensed a strong force presence... Yoda went to Dagobah because his presence is nullified by the Dark Side tree...

Obi-Wan isn't half as strong in the force as Yoda is, so he could hide relatively safe on Tatooine, under an alias...
