As Luke Skywalker he was one of the most recognisable stars of his generation.
So it is all the more shocking to see the bizarre sight of Mark Hamill searching through an ashtray for used cigarette butts.
A series of images clearly show the veteran actor rummaging through the public ashtray outside a Los Angeles recording studio on Thursday.

After picking out some half-smoked cigarettes with tobacco still attached, Hamill retreats to his luxury BMW.
There he can be seen happily smoking the stubs and throwing the remnants out of his window.
Looking out of shape, 61-year-old Hamill then heads to a burger joint.

After buying a burger and soda he eats in his car, before throwing the fast food trash bag on the road outside his vehicle.
Mark then heads home to his luxury Malibu seafront mansion.
Despite his down-at-heel behaviour, the father-of-three remains in demand professionally.

He appeared in this month's season finale of Criminal Minds, and also recently guest starred alongside Star Trek's George Takei in The Neighbors.
Along with voiceover work, and his frequent appearances of fan conventions, a return to the big screen could also be imminent for Mark.
He recently revealed that he and his co-stars from the iconic trilogy are in talks to reprise their famous roles after original director George Lucas reached out to him.

And he revealed that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are also now in talks to appear in the latest installment of the franchise Star Wars VII, or even spin-off films.
He told Entertainment Tonight: 'They're talking to us.
'George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we'd be interested. He did say that if we didn't want to do it, they wouldn't cast another actor in our parts - they would write us out.'

Not to fussed by this article to be honest......Luke Skywalker is one of my all time favourite screen characters, Mark Hamill is just the actor who played him.

 

Good for Mark for choosing how he lives his life which isn't harming a single other person in these actions.

The only thing that I find disturbing is how the press is so interested in invading people's lives like this.

 

You know, if Episode VII wasn't coming out this wouldn't even make news..

 

Okay, now I know the forum's running out of things to talk about.

 

Because they won't give us any real Episode VII news.

Then again, there might not be any news to tell at this point.

 

You mean that after nearly 40 years people age?!

 

The only disturbing thing is that someone thought they should write an article about this.

 

If this is the best they could find we don't have to worry much.

Btw. we should probably all watch one episode of the neighbors. Looks pretty good for his age imo.

I don't like this kind of crap, who knows maybe he "quit" smoking and got desperate. In the BMW pic he has taken off his outer shirt and just has the black tee shirt underneath.

What's more disturbing is there is apparently a handicapped tag hanging from the rear view mirror. ??? And that seems to be an older BMW.

As for his physical appearance, I guess I pictured/hoped he'd get back in shape, but Alec Guiness wasn't ripped, Yoda had a pot belly... Maybe he's been directed to fatten up.

 

only problem i see is his choice of smash burger. theres better options, as theyre a bit overrated.

 

Well, nicotine's a b-word. I'll grant him that.

But that handicap pass. Luke Skywalker has a handicap pass. I'm going to have to go home and rethink my life.

 

LOL these pics are awesome!!! The tabloids are just exploiting him, trying to make his actions look out of the norm.

 

I THOUGHT I had him pegged as 'one of the tribe' at C5 - Cigarettes are of the devil, and unfortunately you can't buy 'just one' anymore (pisses me off because during my many 'quits' I would buy a few singles 'for emergencies', it was a small victory over buying a full 20 pack).

As for the supposed 'Beemer' - those door handles/interior look pretty 'Ford' to me

And finally, I don't give two tosses that he's got a bit of a tum - it looks like an older picture anyway as we all saw what he looked a few weeks ago on Jimmy Kimmel (with the fangasm 'hood lowering'). He's still vertical, (and a nice guy to boot) and that's what's important.

 

Could be temporary - (more so that 'plates) . I have a set now because there are days distant walking (and depends on the distance) makes my hips and knees scream (arthritis - and Mark has 20 years on me) - again, it could be worse.

 

This is a non-story for me, and the person who took these pictures is a creep by just trying to get a story by degrading Mark. He's clearly having a nicotine withdraw, it's not like he's poor and can't afford his own cigs. At least it's not marijuana or cocaine, doesn't the media have two other losers to hound around for that stuff?

 

He probably dotched his smoke before going in, and then coming out retrieved it - hey those bloody sticks are expensive nowdays.
