In Dark Empire when the Emperor enters his new young clone he is naked but has no "reproductive" organs. Are all clones like this?

I don't think that the EU has covered this, but for the clone wars, why would the clones need to have families and children. We do know that some of the clones that Thrawn made did have them, because some of them had families back on a planet in VOTF and SOTP

Palpatine's clones probably have them too...he's just barbie-dolled for the kids [face_batting]

Actually he does have reproductive organs. According to Dark Empire sourcebook, what you see in the comic is actually a kind of protective covering for the clones during the cloning process, that covers his real skin. I'll see if I can find the quote for you...

Just imagine with all those Baron Fels running around. He must have a million kids by now.

Well, I think in the Clone Wars, it's fairly obvious that the clones have testosterone coming out the atom-splitter, a trait we probably wouldn't see if they didn't have weasels. I think their voices would probably be higher, too. In any case, I refer to the words of Monty Python:
"Isn't it awefully swell to have a p****? Isn't it awefully grand to have a d***? From the world's tiniest pradger to the world's biggest prick!"

The OS, in the person of Jocasta Nu, says they "are fully capable of biological reproduction."

I always wondered about this, I thought I had read somewhere they were "sexually neutral". I think it was Toyfare about a new Clone action figure or something.

it would make sense from a control standpoint that clonetroopers, while they might have the biological apparatus might be sterilized at some point before being set loose on the galaxy. quite possibly mixing regular human genes with growth accelerated genes might lead to some funky problems with the kids or the pregnancies.

as for other later batches of clones (palpatine, thrawn, wayland, niruan, etc.) -- they might not bother with sterilization if they solved the reproduction issue.

The canon explanation is yes. It was answered on the OS.

Please do, page number too. I don't recall that being mentioned in the DE sourcebook, though somehow I don't doubt it may be there. Never really paid attention to much in the last chapter, so for all I know it appears there. But then folks have mentioned stuff from other chapters that I didn't think exsisted only to be able to look it up after they give a page number.

"While the clone body matures, the Clone VAts introduce special polymer chains to the nutrient cylinder. Combining with skin, the polymer forms a tough fibrous membrane that covers and protects the body during the decanting phase. This mottled second skin is eventually sloughed off."-DESB, Page 124

The Fel clones in VotF had children, IIRC. And the point of cloning is to get a 1 : 1 copy from the original, so if the original has reproductive organs the clone will have to.

Interesting conclusion: The Palpatine clones in DE don't have reproductive organs -> Palpatine doesn't have reproductibe organs -> Palpatine can't be the father of Anakin.

Maybe Palpatine was that bad because he never got laid?

But then how do we explain Triclops and Ken Palpatine?

Though it does sound very plausible.

Where the wives of the Fel clones, clones of Wynnsa?

Mules (mixed species breeds) are typically not capable of reproduction, but do have organs.

Clones definitly do. The just have copied genes, if the origian genes had organs, the clones do too (if unaltered)

Dolly the sheep, in fact, gave birth to a baby ewe a couple years ago.

Sure reproductive organs that's an easy one. What about Clone Belly Buttons?
No womb, No Placenta, No umblicial cord Right? If it's a matter of genes, belly butttons are just scares, so what if Palps had bypass surgery, would the clone have a jagged line. Speaking of clones and Jagged...(kidding dont derail the thread) :D :p

Palpatine does have reproductive organs. What you see in dark empire is only a protective second skin over his body, and privates.
