Do colds give you the "sexy voice"?

I have a nasty cold I am getting over right now and noticed that once again my voice has dropped at least an octave and its sort of raspy. If it wasn't for the annoying nasally buildup sound I would be hawt stuff.

 

I've been told "YES"

 

I never have a sexy voice.

Doesn't seem to have that effect on me.

 

Push it a little further and I could sound like Orsen Welles...cept not as fat.

Colds make people feel sorry for me. Seriously, I worked tech support and only had so many sick days available, so I worked through the second half of a lung infection. Well, it was hard to breathe and people kept thinking that they were actually making me cry because it sounded like I was sobbing every time I breathed. So they would apologize profusely and just drop whatever grudge they had against the company.

 

I definitey don't get the "sexy voice." In fact, half the time I sound like a man, which in my case is not a good thing.

 

Being sick inhibits my sexy voice. My usually luxurious bass timbre becomes a nasally croak.

 

When I have a cold rather than something more serious, I sound very lounge singer at times.

 

Lol, that sounds like an add for colds. I worked a phone job for a bit and one of the reasons I quit was cuz it was so frustrating to deal with angry customers all the time who were taking personal offense at whatever was up with their account. I love helping people but it never felt like I was actually being any help.


Anyway, colds just make people feel bad for me too, I think. I think at those stages I like that, "Aww, poor thing. Can I get you anything?" more than the "How YOU doin'?" anyway.

But I guess I'm guilty of finding those voices attractive on men sometimes.

 

Not a "sexy" voice, but a "thirty years of whiskey and tobacco" voice.

I guess wine has a lasting effect on the voice after all.

 

I've been told yes, but I never understood why it getting deeper and raspy makes it sexy?

 

Yes, I get that.

I get the squint-eyed, Pruno-brewing women's prison voice.

If that counts as sexy . . .


uhhh, I dunno, buy an Amy Winehouse album and call a hotline. Not necessarily in that order.

I had a bad flu for a week and a half recently, and my voice sounded deeper and gruffer. I definitely sounded sexy.



...well, if a chain-smoker were sexy.
