In all those Star Wars games where you can be a Jedi, it seems like one of the powers the Jedi have is force healing. But yet we haven't seen any force healing in the movies.

When i was watching TPM for the first time and qui gon was taking anakins midichlorian count, i was expecting to see Qui Gon heal up anakins cut with the force.

I guess maybe ben kenobi waking up (or healing) luke when the tuskens beat him up might be a force heal?

So can they fix cuts and make someone feel better through the force? or is that just a video game thing?

The closest explanation i can think of is that when Obi-wan touched luke's head, his midichlorians transfered some of their stored force energy into him.

    ummmm

I don't know about that theory. For one, Ben making Luke better after the Tuskens attack was in ANH, not in the prequel trilogy (but that's okay, for now that is practically the only healing I can recall).

Maybe we'll see some in ROTS. Maybe even by Yoda, but the real problem is that, even in the games, Force Heal looks something like the mystical healing in that acid trip Fern Gully movie. :p

I guess you're right that there hasn't really been an instance in the films that show it. Whatever.

Qui-Gon had to get that midichlorian count some way...

Im pretty sure they can, but not to the extent Anakin wanted. Someone in his moms condition, the best it would have done (personally, bit of an oppinion here) was he couldve helped her hold on for a few moments at best.

Yes, but remember his bs about "let me clean this cut?" I think that probably (as little boys on Tatooine often get) Anakin had a cut and it was convenient for Qui Gon to use that as an excuse.

Yeah, nothing in the movies really qualifies as Force Healing, I think. It might only be an EU thing. There's a pair of books about the Circle of Jedi Healers and I've read a Jedi healing sequence in at least one other EU book.

He never said that that scene was in the PT.

My guess is if Jedi really can heal, it probably requires a long time to meditate and concentrate on the healing process. Something spur-of-the-moment probably is prolly going to be too hard to heal.

I don't think the jedi have any healing powers. I think they may be able to ease suffering with the force though. In ANH, I think Ben was just bringing Luke back to concsiousness.

I always took the scene in ANH to be Obi-Wan taking Luke's pulse from his temple veins.

I think the ability to heal with the force falls into the same category as yellow and orange lightsabers., they were just made up for games.

From what we've seen in the movies, I don't think that the Jedi can't deal with anything more than fatigue or weariness and stuff. Maybe the can help themselves rest faster, but closing up wounds? I do agree that it was made up for gaming reasons.

It wouldn't be dramatic to see Qui-Gon heal up while Ben was fighting Maul, but I think it's totally reasonable to think that despite his wounds he was able to stay alive for a little bit longer.
