I was wondering if quite possibly Obi-Wan and Yoda stayed in contact with one another between the time of ROTS and ANH.

One might say that they obviously stayed in contact through the Force, but we have not really seen this take place in the films, except in the case of Luke calling out to Leia in ESB.

Some might say, they did not contact one another at all.

Is it possible that Obi-Wan and Yoda may have communicated with one another through soem type of communicators as we have seen in the Prequels.

Now one might say that this would be pretty risky for them to do so, and that we saw no means of communication in Obi-Wan's place on Tatooine or in Yoda's place on Dagobah.

But we did not get a view of their entire dwellings, so we cannot say for sure this was the case.

Obi-Wan went into Mos Eisley we know, because he was pretty familiar with the place, and surely there were likely long range communications there despite Tatooine being in the Outer Rim. Also, Dagobah was pretty far out as well, so it could well be that Yoda and Obi-Wan maintained communications through some device they kept after the time of the Jedi Purge.

Sure it would be risky for them; however Vader and the Emperor think Yoda and Obi-Wan are most likely dead, so they would not be looking for communications between these two.

Anyway, just some thoughts on this.

    *Through the force*

    Ben: "Master Yoda..."
    Yoda: "yes Obi Wan"
Ben: "Are you sure we should risk the boy not being trained as a Jedi"
Yoda: "Been through this, we have - Obi Wan"
Ben: "Yes...i suppose you're right. It just doesn't feel right"
    Yoda: "Obi Wan..."
    Ben: "Yes Master"
Yoda: "Heard this one you have? Enter the club, gammorrean, a Twilek and a Wookie do..."
    Ben: *sighs*

    huh?

"I cannot teach him, the boy has no patience"

    "He will learn patience"

"Much anger in him, like his father"

"Was I any different when you thaught me?"

    etc.

While the Falcon is trying to escape the Star Destroyers and TIE's above Bespin:

    Vader: Luke
    Luke: Father
    Vader: Son, come with me
Luke: Ben, why didn't you tell me

I think communication through the Force is possible, but Vader and Luke weren't that far apart in this particular instance, and had a father/son bond.

Again, I have no problem believeing they can communicate through the Force; however what are the possibilities that Yoda and Obi-Wan were able to stay in contact through some communication device.

So far in the films we have, we saw Luke communicate to Leia(short range)and then Vader to Luke(short range) through the Force. We have yet to see long range communication(planet to another planet)via the Force. Personally, I am thinking that through the Force, distance would make no difference. But who knows?!

Then we have seen long-range communication through technical devices. Is it possible that Yoda and Obi-Wan had access to communication devices to stay in touch between ROTS and ANH?

I would like to see this touched on in the last film, for I just cannot believe that Yoda and Obi-Wan did not communicate during that time period.

Luke did talk to leia and vader through the force, but yes that was short range.

You'd have to wonder, if they could communicate long range then why did obi wan bother trying to find where anakin was in episode 2? Why did he waste time trying to find anakin so anakin could send his transmission to the jedi council? If it was that important obi wan should of just told yoda or mace through the force what was going on.

i'm sure even if they did, the "calls" weren't too frequent.
