On the cover of "Survivors Quest", the Chiss depicted has totally red eyes. No pupils, or an iris, etc... Do Chiss have different eyes (apart from color obviously) than a human?
At least they don't have visible pupils (as far as I can tell from the pics I've seen on covers and in comics). As for other differences, I know that they see better than Humans in the dark. Personally I don't like the eyes on that cover very much. They looks like lamps.
On the cover of Vision of the Future, Grand Admiral Thrawn (I think it's supposed to be Thrawn) is shown with red pupils and fairly normal eyes.
It might be Stent, too... I'm just saying that there seems to be one alternative representation of Chiss eyes.
I also remember reading that the Thrawn/Flim with pupils on the VotF cover was a mistake that could not be corrected in time. So Chiss have solid red eyes, or you simply can't see the pupils in the glowing red.
The picture of Thrawn from EC definately showes pupils. It seems unreasonable for Chiss to not have pupils. Most likely they just aren't visible beneath the glow from the blood in their eyes under normal conditions. It seems to me like the pupils would be distinctly less red and glowey than the rest of the eye.
C_G is right (btw hi, my Louis Vuitton friend ) The point is that Flim is not a Chiss. I know logically, his eyes should look exactly the same as Thrawn's since he's supposed to have exactly the same apparence, but since Zahn (I know that some people complain that Zahn has far too much power in the EU) strongly objected against the eyes with pupils they had to fix it someway, so I guess that's the leading in-universe explaination for now And I agree with 7-7-7. Since the pupils really are "black holes" (correct me if I'm wrong here)it would be reasonable if they are invisible in an eye that are glowing red..
I just wonder - wouldn't those who knew the real Thrawn not have noticed the change?? (hey Shoujo !!)
*hugs C_G* Yes, they definately should have, so that "fix" isn't really that good. I hate it when artists don't pay attention. Remember those LARGE, broad Noghri in one of the comic versions in the Thrawn trilogy?
I mean, how could they miss the fact that was the whole idea about the Noghri, that they are SMALL and wiry?!? I'm grateful they didn't make Thrawn green.
