Do you consider this strange?

I pronounce the word forward like fo'ward. My friends always freak out at me saying "THERE'S AN R IN THERE!" but I don't see the problem. Fo'ward>>Forward. Is that strange to you?

Kids these days and their lack of ability to enunciate. I don't openly correct people unless it's just playfully, but I come from the Boondocks. It's a torment.

I pronounce "forward" the same way, although you might expect as much considering I'm from New England (and I used to say "fowid" when I was younger).

However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this pronunciation. Tell your friends to go to England and see how they like it there.

 

I've picked up certain things from reigions I've never been to. I call soda Coke, which I guess is a Texas thing, fo'ward is not a NJ thing as far as I know. I also say "oy vey" and I'm not Jewish.

 

I was just messing around. I come from a city where ppl mis-pronounce stuff as part of the language.For example. "S" is added to everything in singular form I.E. Wal-marts, k-marts,burger kings, targets. Yet the places with an "S" its left off I.E. KIng soopers is King sooper, sears is just sear. The best part is the complete screwing up of whole parts of language. PPl here like to say "Im going to sahvenelahven to gets a chicken sangwhich for loonch". it kills me.

 

My dad's friends call the TV show Law and Order "Lawr and Odah". I love that I think it's hilarious.
