Does anybody else hate it when people spell 'boy' as 'boi'?

Whenever I see that, my brain tries to explode. It's only my extra strength titanium, calcium reinforced skull cap that keeps me alive during these times.

Anyways, anybody else feel the similar way?

How about people who spell the word "cool" as "kewl". Does anyone else get annoyed by these things?

that's where i keep seeing it.

 

Well there is some distinction, in my mind.

One's "boy" is a friend. One's "boi" is a lover.

For example, my friend Cody is currently my boy, but will soon be my boi, if all goes well.

 

What also annoys me is when people type "u" instead of "you" and "asian" as "azn."

People need to learn to speak, write, type, or whatever in English correctly, don't you think?

it doesnt bug me to see you as u and are as r, etc. Thats shorthand and saves people from typing a few letters. What bugs me is when people type something not because its shorter but because its different. Boy, boi, why bother typing it incorrectly?

 

I always thought "Boi" was a term for gay guys, cuz the first time I saw it was a friend's screen name, and he's well, uh... rather flam"boi"ant.

Not to gay bash at all, it's just that's what I thought it meant.

 

I thought it might be from the Yiddish "boichik." Which I think means boy, basically.

 

i live i a mostly asian community, and I bet EVERY single one (in middle school or high school) of their screen names or e mail addresses have the word "azn". it bugs me. i wouldnt call myself "caucazn".

 

I hate chat shorthand.

It is not normal english.

It looks terrible.

People who feel like they must use less letters in their words make themselves look stupid.

But I hate it when people are dumb enough to misspell the word 'the' as 'teh'!
