Yep - got all the adult novels, a fair number of the YA novels (Boba Fett series, YJK) and a lot of the reference books. I've also got a first edition paperback of the original SW novel from 1976. It's not in great shape as it was on open shelves for ages before I realized what I had. It's in a comic book bag now.
Yeah. It's intact but has some yellowing of the pages. I could probably claim fair condition for it but nothing much higher.
Me too. I've got most of the old EU and I buy the new novels as they come out. I like the comics as well and I've got a pretty decent library of trade paperbacks and hard covers. As much as I do enjoy collecting the books like this, they have all been bought to read. Their collectibility is a nice bonus.
I guess I technically collect the books, I have all of the new EU books and most of the old EU books and like to get the reference books as well. I've gotten a few signed as well by Timothy Zahn, Claudia Gray, and John Jackson Miller.
Some of us from the forums were name-checked in the Acknowledgement section of SW: The Essential Atlas which came out in 2009. You can see the page here on Amazon UK if you do the 'Look Inside'. Jason Fry - one of the authors - was at the last London Celebration and autographed my copy (and drew a small Boba Fett head and shoulders) for me. It was nice to meet him!
Cool, l haven't managed to get any signed copies or autographed merch. though. My favorite author was Aaron Allston my heart broke when he died.
I particularly like the old republic novels, Drew Karpyshyn ,and Timothy Zahn are some of my other favorite authors.
Yes. In the last two years my collection has grown from a few select books to an entire bookcase. I'll have to take inventory. Have lots of novels, a handful of reference books, 10+ trades and a stack of comics.
Over the last few months, I've been seeking out the Legends books that I didn't read first time around. I just started to miss the old EU and wanted to dive back in for a while. In any case, I found eBay to be a great resource. I managed to pick up lots of second hand and new books for great prices.
I don't collect the books, but I definitely want to (eventually) pick up the vintage novelizations of the original trilogy. In fact, I'd like to get into collecting 70s/80s/90s movie novelizations in general, but I have so many collecting irons in the fire at the moment.
I do. I used to collect the legends books, well before they were legends. I have a lot of the new EU. To be honest I haven't cared for most of the new books though.
I don't have very many novels, however Star Wars novel collecting is something I want to get into a bit. I have the first edition 4 hardcover variants of The Phantom Menace novelization, I plan to buy a bunch of the other special copies of the The Phantom Menace novelization, its one of my favorite Star Wars books. I also have the Phasma novel, Death Troopers, the Thrawn Trilogy, The Force Awakens novelization and the first of the canon Thrawn books and few other Star Wars books that I can't think of right now but yeah I kinda dig collecting Star Wars novels.
Cool I now have over 400 sw novels and reference books I hope you enjoy collecting them as much as I do @TsmHedorah
Woah! Impressive my friend, “most impressive.” I use to have a fair collection, but not anymore. Can’t manage a large library anymore.
Thanks Kato it can be a little hard to manage my bookshelves since I made that first post I've added over 200 more novels and hope to get more for christmas
