Just curious... as I signed up with them on the weekend, and just wondering what people think of them?

I think I may struggle with the 650 meg download limit per month! :(

    650?

I get about 1.2 gigs of video clips a month. Just leave the Computer on and go to work... etc.

And that's dial-up! It's no wonder they don't kick me off, but I'll keep it up as long as they want me on.

EDIT: Revised downloads after investigation on myself.

Kooee. I think they're throughout Sydney to the mid-North coast this way.

Yeah, I got Ozemail. Pity it tends to cut out once it reaches the 4 hour mark [face_plain]

I've got iPrimus prepaid... and it's awesome. No download limits or hour limits and it never fails to connect me first time... The only problem is that it'll throw you off after 5 hours, but there's no downtime before you're able to reconnect!

    I'm with Froggy.

    No problems...no limits.

Connects first time everytime and it's nice and quick.

In fact an IT freind of mine thought I was running cable not dail-up because of the speed. :D

Currently I have Ozemail, but come january i'm getting broadband and getting a better connection.

I'm on of the old plans that gave 150 hours / unlimited downloads. Before that i was on unlimited / unlimited, then they changed the plan and didn't tell me, that month i had a bill for $827.

Check the plan for how much they charge if you go over the limit, it'll be a lot per mb.

I'm using Alphalink at the moment, unlimited downloads and unlimited hours (in 4 hour blocks) - $220 per year. I'm thinking of changing to iinet ADSL though. It's got essentially 12GB downloads per month on a 512kbps connection for $79.95 per month. ;)

That's pretty good... I've heard that Alphalink seriously sucked though? What's the story there?

I used to use ozemail pre-paid - never much of a problem. Now I too use Kooee.

I couldn't imagine having a download limit though. I was pretty amazed to see that I had clocked up about 450MB just in my first week ...

    oh well

RP: I've had no real trouble with Alphalink, so I don't see how it could suck so much.

My Grandparents have it and I've found it to be seriously shoddy. You can seldom get on at peak times and the dial-up connection wont run much faster than 33kbps, even though they have a 56 modem...

Yes, I started with Pacific internet, dumped them after a month, and picked up Ozemail after that and have never looked back.

The basic dial up is so far a never fail.

I have unlimited hours (and I'm never kicked off, even if I'm online from 10am til 12pm...I have no life during holidays. :() and 650mb of download per month.

That upper limit isn't concrete either. As I found out after a bit of a convo with a nice operator, it's simply the way they differentiate private vs. commerical download.

If your up above that limit, they will investigate your downloading behaviour, and THEN either implement the additional costs or advise you to change plans.

The extra's such as the plethora of webspace, email addresses and/or online services is great, especially the new OzEPay.

    Two Thumbs up to Ozemail.

I use to have them (Ozemail) hate them.
