Ya know, with his lightsaber or something? I haven't read any eu in a long, long time so I was just wondering if this ever happened. Thanks
He's killed Syfo Dias. Whether that was in a fight or a plain-old-fashioned backstab is uncertain... he's also pretty much schooled every single Jedi or force user that's come up against him (bar Yoda) right up to his death in ROTS, but he doesn't seem to end up killing them much. For the record, he's beaten Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Quinlin Vos, Tholme, Sora Bulq, Asajj Ventress... um... I'm sure there are others...
Komari Vosa - yeah, but that was through a force-choke when she was lying prone on the ground, so it wasn't really that difficult. While he was still a Jedi, Dooku was one of only two Jedi able to outspar Mace Windu.
By his own hand Dooku killed Sifo Dyas killed Komori Vosa killed that senator i think he was a gran (when Vos advised him) killed numerous Kiffu Guardians
He was responsible for the Deaths of all the Jedi in the Arena at Geonosis... thats the same as killing them yourself.
^^ You actually mean Ishi Tib. Dooku tended to bloody his hands through the actions of others...much like Palpatine.
Indeed. Why kill them yourself if you can get minions to do the job for you? This was Darth Tyranus' success, and Darth Maul's failure. Lord Tyranus was also skilled in using mercy as a weapon to sow confusion in the Jedi Order, as he explained to Sora Bulq upon releasing Kai Justiss and Tsu Choi. When it came to personal combat skills, with the exception of Master Yoda and Anakin Skywalker, Lord Tyranus schools every Jedi or combination of Jedi that faces him.
that whole mercy thing doesn't seemed to have fooled Jeisel--she's very suspicious of Quin's connections to Tholme at Saleucami
I think that's some of his Jedi training coming through - Dooku seems to have an almost pathological aversion to killing other Jedi(directly). His motivations to 'reform' the Order into a dark Jedi society probably have something to do with this. He sacrifices advantage to take enemies alive - or even let them go. He draws out combats longer than he needs to to play with enemies - or teach them. Sometimes this works for him and sometimes it doesn't. For instance, the last battle is a perfect example of Sidious exploiting this facet of Dooku's personality. It only slightly backfired because Dooku didn't kill Kenobi outright like he was supposed to.
He fought Tholme -- sa-weeet! Too bad I just get TPBs -- please tell me, when can I expect to see this awesomeness?
I don't think he has a pathological aversion to killing Jedi per say... (He was going to kill Kenobi in cold blood). and I doubt that he wasn't planning on killing Obi-Wan in ROTS, the opportunity presented itself to toss him and he went for it. I do think he shys away from killing them because he feels guilty though I wouldn't say he's incapable of it, as the first reply states... he did kill Syfo. Thanks for your input guys, if you have more I'd love to hear about it.
It was in one of the Republic issues. I forget, since I haven't read that issue for a while...but from what I remember, most of what Dooku did in the final Obsession was save Grievous' sorry cybernetic-self after he (Grievous) took a whippin' facing Windu, and order one of the MagnaGuards to try and kill Asajj Ventress.
The entire fight is in the preview on darkhorse.com - there's a bit of aftermath in Republic 73 also. http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/preview.php?theid=10-192&p=1 The Obi-wan thing, well, I'm basing that on the fact the novelization makes it blatant Dooku pulled both earlier blows on Obi-wan, and it could be argued as a ploy to put Anakin off balance defending Obi-wan. Or it could be for real, but since Dooku appears to have a 'Do Not Kill' order out on Kenobi for the whole Clone Wars, and Asajj sees him as a real threat to her position...plus the not-throwing-him-harder in ROTS it doesn't seem in-character for Dooku to go for the kill right then. Of course, Dooku's characterization is famously inconsistant.
He did surpass Tholme and Bulq. It was only briefly showed, a few panels at best. And this is the problem with Star Wars comics---you don't see prolonged sabering. Heatstorm is the exeption. And Crimson Empire's 12-page showdown beats them all.
Dooku is one of my favorite characters but he is ultimately a coward. He Force threw an old lady out a window to keep Yoda too busy to kill him!!!
If your human pet was Whirry I too would blast her through a window. You can't call a haunting-looking Arkanian Ding!
