Does Hayden Christensen play a gay prostitute in Life as a house?

Sorry about this thread but a debate with my mate has to stop! I hope he deos not play one. I would really like to know the truth. I hope this is not true. Can you guys please shed some light on this

 

Yes, i know its hard to believe but its true. He does play a gay prostitute (for part of the film) and is quite good in the role, for what its worth.

 

No he doesn't. He plays a troubled teenager.

 

Why would Hayden, knowing that he has ep 2 and 3 lined up, take on this role, apparently he is only one temporarely but i mean, it kind of in way defames the character anakin a bit. I am never going to watch life as a house because of this, It would subconsciencly ruin ep 2 and 3 in a minute way.

 

It's a shame that you've chosen to judge the film before you've even seen it. It's quite a good story about a father and son finding each other and mending their relationship before it's too late.

I would think that Hayden took the role because it offered him the chance to show what the could do in a role that takes a character from the depths of despair and anger to finally getting his life together. If it's any consolation, he spends much more time with a girl than he does with anyone else.

I suppose this isn't the time to point out the nature of Ewan's earlier roles in films like Velvet Goldmine, Trainspotting, and The Pillow Book, huh?

 

He's a drug addict. His behavior is a means of getting his drugs. He is absolutely phenomenal in the role, it's a great film, and you should check it out. Hey, just the first scene with Hayden is worth the price of a rental!

 

Yeah, it's a good movie. He (almost) does something stupid (the gay prostitute thing) because of a drug addiction. He definitely is straight in the rest of the movie. A real feel good movie, I thought.

Now, I'm not a fan of Hayden Christensen's other films, and the only reason I ever took note of him was his portrayal in Star Wars. I think he did a good job in AoTC, but I by no means have an infatution with any of his other movies or like him nearly as much as half the women on the JC do (which is a good thing, since I like girls ).


Anyways, I did watch Life as a House, and I have to say he did great. Let me just say that you don't judge the actor by the character he plays, you judge the actor by the how much the character he plays is realistic and believable. I think he did this pretty good in AoTC, but in Life as a House, he did it awesome.

the only reason i watch the film was because i wanted an idea of what christensen's acting style was like. i wanted to be prepared.

I might rent it now, after what has been said. Yes i agree, he should only be judged as a believable actor in that role and not carried over to real life. I don't know cause i haven't watched it but maybe there might be some good scenes that might show his anger, similar to the anger we might see in ep3

 

You want to see him angry? Rent this movie. Sam Monroe is one of the angriest characters I have seen in any movie, and Hayden's portrayal of him will show you exactly why he earned a Golden Globe nomination.

The scene in question is one of the climactic moments in the film--Sam reluctantly takes one job, and in the process realizes that his behavior has gone too far. From that moment he starts to turn his life around.

 

I first watched it on Showtime to see what he looked like and if he was any good as an actor. You should watch this movie.

1. Kevin Kline is a great actor who plays his father.

2. Hayden does a pretty good job as the troubled teenager, his niche'.

This has become one of my favorite movies of all time and it's not because of Hayden in any way. The story/movie is just that good IMO.
