He knew his father's name was Anakin, but he had no idea who his mother was. And while this is going to be an EU answer, he didn't really know the name of his mother until about 25 years after ANH IIRC. Again thats EU so take it as you will.

Padme is as the above individual mentioned. The actual dialogue concerning his father is from episodie VI...

Ben: You father was seduced by the dark side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I have told you was true... from a certain point of view.

It's kinda interesting to think that Luke and Leia may have cousins and aunts/uncles/grandparents that still exist on Naboo. But, then, given the suffering the Naberrie family must have gone through because of Anakin's betrayal, I can imagine it would be a very bittersweet reunion.

Yup. I don't see why Padme's sister from the AOTC cutscenes wouldn't still be alive..

It would probably be too dangerous to reunite Luke and Leia w/ their Naboo relatives. If the Emperor found out............

There's an idea for a new EU book. Luke notices Naboo. Goes to Naboo. Tells them his name 'I'm Luke Skywalker' suddenly Sola sees him 'Skywalker?' Luke nods. She backs down crumbles and then tells Luke about his mum and such and every now and then 'Hey let's go visit Aunt Sola'

No, there is no book on Luke finding out about his mother, in fact no one really knows when he found out. I think it was the New Jedi Order sourcebook that had it mentioned that Skywalker knew enough to figure out who his mother was by the time Coruscant fell to the Vong. So somehwere between ANH and 28 years later he found out about his mother, no details are known just that he does know.

Of course that is just EU doesn't have to be believed.

besides, Sola had two daughters who would be a little younger than Han Solo. So Luke's cousins could join them and really fit in with the group. Like Lando takes an interest in one of the girls and Luke isn't happy about it. If the star wars authors visit this site read this thread we could make a great book.

I'd read that actually. Luke and Leia have gradparents out there somewhere.
Whenever the book is, it's have to take place after that stupid stupid stupid Black Fleet crisis tale that had Luke going after a false mom.
If they really wanted to keep in with the Star Wars vien, they'd have Luke falling in love for Pooja before he finds out they're cousins, then have them say they always knew :p
Like Leia ran into Wald, Kitster, and the rest of Anni's friends in Tatooine Ghost, Luke could run into Jar Jar, Tarpals, Jamillia, and Sio Bibble. If he hasn't died by then, he just ain't gonna die says I. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time the EU used someone who by all accounts should be good and dead.
Question, would the Naberries even know the truth about Anakin? The rest of the galaxy seems to think this great Clone Wars hero is dead with the rest of the Jedi.

I know this phrase has been a bit overrused as of late (to say the least...), but we might be able to conjecture about what the Nebarrie's knew after Ep. 3. It would seem to hinge on, one, what Padme even knew about Anakin's 'death', and two, whether she had the time and ability to tell them.

Another question is, whether the Neberrie's know where Luke and/or Leia were hidden, what they do know about the twins, and whether they've been told a false story, such as "Vader came and killed both the twins and the mother when they were young", or something.

I imagine the entire galaxy knows about Luke. Leia..maybe.

I mean, heck, Darth Vader, the Emperor, and Luke Skywalker go into a room alone. 20 minutes later, the Emperor's dead, Vader's almost there, and Luke is almost totally uninjured. legend mighta grown after that.

    >>So somehwere between ANH and 28 years later he found out about his mother, no details are known just that he does know. <<

Actually, it would have to be between 16 years ABY and 28 years ABY since Luke obviously didn't know about his mother during the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy.

I hate to tie every loose thread in this saga. Leave some to the imagination and of course for the endless speculation.

Another thought: what if Padme's siblings don't want anything to do with him? Knowing that by the time of the NJO, Luke has got to be one of the most widely known beings in the galaxy and his exploits are also widely known (including the few times he's flirted with the Dark side), perhaps Padme's siblings didn't want to be associated with him at all. He may be family, but they also remember that things went south the last time they had dealings with another Skywalker, or perhaps they just don't want the attention and emotional baggage that comes with being relatives to THE Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo.
