Does Obi-Wan have a love affair with Padme?

Even if he did take a fancy to her, he'd never do anything about it.

 

And Padme wouldnt let him anywhere near her. She has claws.

 

OMG, OBIDALA IS DUMB. They have almost NO screen time together, and when they do, there is absolutely no signs of attraction. Stop wishing this crap, because it will never happen.

It's true, they don't have much screen time together, and when they do, it's strictly professional. I don't see a love triangle anywhere. (But that's what fanfics are for.)

 

The only semblance of a love triangle in SW is the Han/Luke/Leia "love triangle" in ESB, which, except for those of us who saw ESB in theaters in 1980 and wondered then, is pretty much DOA because we know that Luke and Leia are twins.

I'd personally walk out of the theater if Anakin turned because of Obi-Wan hitting on his wife or the other way around. It would be out of character for both Obi-Wan and Padme, and would make Star Wars too much like "Melrose Place," in which every male character sleeps with every female character at some point.

Let's not forget how we'd feel watching ANH if this scenario were to happen in Episode III: "Hey, Luke! He tried to get with your mom! That's why your dad's wearing that suit! Run that lightsaber up his sorry ass and get out of there!" It would completely change our perspective of Obi-Wan in the OT into something, I believe, it's not supposed to be. Obi-Wan is supposed to be the good guy.

 

That's a good point. Obi-Wan could end up looking like a total backstabber if that happened.

 

I think Obi-Wan views Padme as a mild irritation, so I doubt he'd ever have a love affair with her. Also, I don't think he'd betray Anakin like that, either, so unless George really goes off on one in Episode III, I doubt it'll happen! And if it does, I shall have to vomit. But I'm sure there's some good fanfiction out there which explores that sort of thing!

Of course they do... See, when he says that "Vader betrayed and murdered your father" He was seeing the future!

Come on... It makes no sence. "Hey luke, you know, your mom had a sweet ass." I would lose all respect I had for Obi-Wan.... It won't happen. Throughout the movie the two barely speak let alone the screen time...

As an Obidala 'shipper, I must defend the ship and the reason it came about to begin with.

Before anyone knew about the storyline of AOTC, there was a lot of speculation about why/how Anakin could turn in Episode III. And why Anakin would be resentful of Obi-Wan.

And there was a lot of talk about parallism between empire strikes back and the 2nd prequel movie, that gl would use the same formula and make it a luv triangle.

It would be acinine and rediculas. Obi-wan already has enough problems with misplaced guilt (I love my Ani, but is fall is cause in a great part due to is own choices.) To make Obi-wan a userper and effectively Padme' a trollop who's just looking for a Jedi to fill her bed would discredit all of the characters.

Besides, as posted above, we all know that Obi-wan's heart really belongs to Jango (Obi-gos)...

I don't feel that Obi-Wan has any attraction to Padme' whatsoever. He views her as nothing more than a politician and maybe at times, a friend. Their relationship has always been strictly "professional."

I really don't think it's in Obi-Wan's character to break code like that or anything...so...no.

However, I do remember that in early drafts of Episode I there was supposedly a reference to the possibility that Padme had a slight crush on Obi-Wan, and that it was possibly reciprocated...which would actually make sense. I mean, when I was 14, I know for a fact that I would have had a crush on Ewan McGregor (I did!) and prolly would have found an 8 year old's affections really annoying. BUT as of AOTC there is no reason for that sort of thing...I could have seen "crushing" going on during TPM, but after marrying Anakin and Obi-Wan being an older sorta master, I don't think anything would happen between Padme and Obi-Wan.

 

Obi-Wan is experienced in the way of the Jedi order and code, so I don't expect him to be flirting with the opposite sex. He respects the rules governed by this organisation. Padme loves Anakin, and there will be no affairs during or after this episode.

 

By the time of Episode, or in the end ov the movie, there will be no more code, right?

She loves Anakin, Anakin loves her. That's all there is to that.
