For those you hoping this thread is about me leaving the jc, you don't get your wish, cause the best is yet to come.

On topic. This song is # 16 on billy idol's greatest hits. It calls it a new recording, but the song sounds familiar. Is it a cover or am I imagining things?

Oh, you mean Arosmith didn't make that song? I could have sworn that I have heard him sing it before... Maybe it was something else...

And no I was not hoping that this was a goodbye thread ;)

Original recording means that it isn't just taken from an old CD and placed on this one, they actually re-recorded the song.

    Don't You (Forget About Me)

    Hey, hey, hey ,hey
    Watching ooh... yeah

Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing and you know it baby

Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out, out
Love's strange so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on

Slow change may pull us apart
I'll get us back together at heart, baby

    Don't You Forget About Me
    Don't Don't Don't Don't
    Don't You Forget About Me

    Will you stand above me?
Look my way and never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
    Down, down, down

    Would you recognise me?
Call my name or walk on by
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
    Down, down, down

    Hey, hey, hey, hey
    Watching ooh..... yeah

    Don't you try and pretend
It's my feeling we'll win in the end
I won't harm you or touch your defenses
    Vanity and security

    Don't you forget about me
I'll be alone, dancing and you know it baby
    Going to take you apart
I'll put us back together at heart, baby

    Don't You Forget About Me
    Don't Don't Don't Don't
    Don't You Forget About Me

    As you walk on by
    Will you call my name?
    As you walk on by
    Will you call my name?
    As you walk on by
    (As you walk on by)

Or will you walk on by?
    Will you walk away?
Come on - call my name
Come on - call my name
    Will you call my name?

    I say
    La la la...

    Will you walk on by?
    Would you call my name?
    As you walk on by
    Would you call my name?
    When you walk on by?
    Oh yeah
Come on and call my name
    As you walk on by
    Hey baby call my name!
    When you walk on by
    Would you call my name
    Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....

Uruk-Hai is correct. It's a Simple Minds' song. It was written in 1985 and included on The Breakfast Club soundtrack.

    Damn good tune as well.

Who is simple minds? I heard the song on the radio being played on heating up the eighties. And that sounded like billy, but the billy idol version is awesome, shows he still has talent.

Uruk-hai is right. It's Simple Minds. They were a band in the 80's that had a couple hits. Don't You(Forget about me) was the most popular though. Billy Idol re-did it a couple years later.

That means billy re did it in the 80's hence the reason billy's version got played on an 80's hour.

Yeah Idol did redo it in the 80's so he does kinda get credit for it too. It's still a really good song though.
