Not spotted by me, but by DarthMalevonus in another thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread. They appear to be on the Planet Jedah during this timeframe?
This seems to be confirmed here: http://www.starwarspost.com/disgruntled-bar-patron-makes-return-rogue-one-star-wars-story/ Unfortunately I am not interested in cameos, as opposed to good story and action.
It's interesting - Makingstarwars said one of their trusted sources claims Boba Fett will have a cameo. Other sites feel Han Solo will have a cameo. Now it looks like Ponda Baba and Dr. Evazan might have cameos. I'm guessing they'll all be on Jedah, but a place known for being a spiritual mecca seems like kind of an odd place for smugglers and bounty hunters to be on. It'll be interesting to see how they make the Boba, Han, Evazan and Ponda cameos work.
As long as they avoid the "you're going to get it one day greedo" thing I'm fine with it. I have no problem with fun stuff for the fans, I find it, well... fun. Now if he grabs Jyn and she says something about him losing that arm some day I might roll my eyes a bit, but I still think it could be fun.
Is there any possibility that there will be some scene of the cantina on Tattooine? It seems odd that several barflys from Tattooine would just happen to be hanging out near the same day on another planet...
Yes, it is odd. Ponda, Han, Fett and Evazan are all on Tatooine a few days later. Maybe they recruit one member of the Rogue One team from Tatooine and that's when we see this crew? Maybe Saw Guerrera is on Tatooine?
The Han cameo rumour was never reported by a credible rumour source. And it doesn't even make sense. I'm even not sure if Fett will have one in the movie. Ponda Baba and Evazan could be possible though. Remember that while the end of Rogue One is 10 minutes before the beginning of ANH, the Jedha scenes could still happen several days or weeks prior to that. Enough time for Baba and Evazan to leave Jedha and to enter the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine. Gesendet von meinem GT-P3110 mit Tapatalk
Yeah, the Han cameo feels unnecessary and costly because they will need Harrison with CGI to reprise him. Maybe they could mention him and/or Chewie as suggestion for recruiting them to the mission, but it's unnecessary to show them. Boba in the other hand might be great to see him only a few seconds or any bounty hunter.
Absolutely fantastic ! I hope future directors do more of this sort of thing. Images/scenes like this gets you thinking about these other minor characters and the roles they play in the greater Star Wars universe. It makes the backround of scenes feel abit like The Tales Of The Mos Eisley Cantina where there are other stories going on and other lives being lead other than the main characters. Its kind of like throwing out a bunch of hooks to the really random parts of the films, snagging them and pulling them in really tight; thus pulling all of the random parts into one cohesive and involved story. And the written media seems to be doing this as well. No more "Well there is the main vision, but there are these other parts as well that may not be necessarily part of the main vision". One vision, one greater story. Love your work Gareth !
Yeah, but as Evazan says, he has the death sentence in twelve star systems. So he gets around, and is probably not from Tattooine. That said, I don't need to see him. But if he's in the background somewhere, so be it.
Seeing as there was a rumour that Han Solo might appear as a cameo in Rogue One, hows this for a possible scenario. Dr Evazan and Ponda Baba need to get off Jedah quickly (cause they got a death sentence) and so they enlist the help of a couple of smugglers to get them off world...those Smugglers being Han and Chewie. Han and Chewie offer them safe passage, for a price, drops them off at Tatooine, and that's how they all end up in the Cantina? (all happens off screen) could be something like this?
^ Concise. I like it. But, if you'll forgive random hole-poking, have there been any rumors of a Chewbacca cameo along with those of Han?
I like it. I´m not too fond of the idea of a Han cameo in Rogue One, but something like this could work. It might be too distracting from the overall story though.
I'd be ok seeing these two guys in the background. But I will not forgive a forced Han Solo cameo. If they use this new actor that wont make any sense
Dr. Evazan did not get killed, however, Ponda Baba got his arm severed by Obi-wan. I'm wondering if in Rogue One he gets into an accident and that's how his face gets messed up.
