So what exactly IS Dr. Evil's accent? It almost sounds like some kind of exaggerated American accent, but not quite. It has a Brittish tinge to it which sounds so funny when used with Evil's "hip" vocabulary. Someone help me figure this out.

Anyone truly evil either has a Transylvanian accent, a German accent or speaks whilst breathing at the same time.

It's nothing but a lame attempt at an Ed Sullivan impression.

I noticed that he really exaggerates his O's and E's. I sounds really quirky.

I heard that Mike Meyers based Dr.Evil on Lorne Micheals, and since Lorne's Canadian,I guess it's an exaggerated Canadian accent.

Throw in a little bit of Donald Pleasence as well. Myers himself said he was the Blofeld actor that inspired him the most (although personally, I think there's a much greater physical resemblance to Savalas).

As already said, it's Lorne Michaels. So, if it's anything "regional", I guess it's a Torontonian who's lived in New York for 30 years.
