I watched that episode. I'm sure stuff was exaggerated, but it seems that his wife puts up with quite a bit.

I mean, he said cuddling bored him! Dude, lots of Star Wars geeks (myself included!) would find having someone to cuddle with to be a lot more exciting than new special effects shots being added to the trilogy (actually, it would help keep my mind off of how the Star Wars movies are being unnecessarily altered).

my bff (who happens to hat Star Wars) called me today and told me all about it! I bookmarked the link posted, I'll watch it later. But personally, from I've heard, I think the guy's a jerk! my friend told me that he had talked to his fiance about her comeing down the aisle to the SW theme, and she said no. He did it anyway. He had his grooomsmen hold masterReplicas over the aisle as she walked down to the alter...without asking her. She told me he made her watch all 6 episodes for their honeymoon?! I'm sorry, I'm a huge Star Wars fan myself, but watching Star Wars should NOT be on ANYONE'S agenda for their honeymoon!

don't get me wrong, I LOVE Star Wars! I've been a fan ever since I can remember. However, when it gets in the way of your love life, that's too much. Star Wars should not be more important than the person you love. And if you're going to force your spouse to watch all 6 movies, take him/her to Star Wars related locations for your anniversary, when all the time, you're spouse could really care less, maybe even hate Star Wars? come on! I mean do you really and truely love them? I tend to think not.

once again, I have not actually watched the clip myself, so I very possibly may be ammending some of this after i see it. But for now...i think it's all rather rediculous, and I feel sorry for his wife.

I'm glad to see Dr. Phil approves of Star Wars obsession.

If it weren't for that, I wouldn't want to get into the Star Wars fandom--y'know, experts like Dr. Phil know what's best and you don't want to contradict professional opinions. In fact, since seeing this episode, I've made myself a stormtrooper costume as well as a faux lightsaber, both of which I plan to carry around every day.

I thought the guy had some "issues" too. Telling everyone on national television that cuddling with your wife is boring is hurtful. Granted, I think this is a shining example of why fen have to watch it with dating and marrying mundanes, and vice versa, but he needs to realize he has to make room in his life for the Mrs.. He can't force her to be a fan like he is and if she's willing to go to SW Weekends and Celebrations, he needs to indulge in her interests too.

Thankyou!(btw, I have now watched the clip, and I still say the same thing!) I couldn't beleive how he had the nerve to say 'Yeah, I know she loves me, because at this point anyone else would've been gone.' I was like 'OMIFREAKINBANTHA!!! yeah, she must love you allright! Well more than you're worth! but do you love her? didn't think so!'

I love Star Wars too,but I'm not about to ram it down other people's throat.Maybe that's what Sir Alec Guinness meant when he frowned on people who watches SW for the nth time.I have a life,SW gives me a lift on my leisure times.the books, when i'm not watching the VCRs keeps me company.

I'm amazed she went through with the wedding, then. I love SW, but I would never pull something like that. Respect for other's opinions, especially if it's someone you love, should come first.

Yeah, Dr. Phil's an ass. This takes my level of respect for him one peg lower (if that's even possible). That guy can be such a media whore, I'm sure he has his whole family building a corporate psychology empire, and he's not even licensed anymore!

I do feel for his wife; that guy reeks of obsession and imbalance. I love Star Wars, but the way he approaches it (as a priority to his marriage) annoys even me.

Wow, that guy IS obsessed! I wonder how his wife puts up with it! Though I expected to see a Darth Maul statue during one of the camera pans. I guess he doesn't have one yet....[face_hypnotized]
