I don't want to sound like an idiot, but can someone explain, or even give screen captures of the different widescreen ratios that DVDs are formatted in?

Star Wars PTs have been in 2:35:1, correct?

What other types are there, and what are the pros/cons?

    Thanks!!

Yeah google is great. Also try looking for a website called "how stuff works" it explains "how" they get the diffrent ratios. Hard matte, soft matte, anamorphic.

Here is a very extensive list of aspect ratios.
