LMM, got this from IMDB. Not the most reliable source, but:

"In the original cut, Elliot and his mom go to the principal after the frog incident. The principal was played by Harrison Ford, the screenwriter's husband. Allegedly the scene was cut because too much attention was brought to Ford, and not to the scene. The scene might be featured in the 2002 edition."

 

ET always scared me.

Thanks, TK. Also if I'm not mistaken, that scene also involved Elliot drawing weird diagrams on the walls and his chair levitating. I still have the old trading cards and a few of them had pics of this scene. It'll be strange finally seeing these things in the movie. Can't wait!

I have a book that had this picture in it. I thought it was weird that it was not in the video. When I saw this picture, I tried to remember if it was in the theater release, but could not.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've never seen E.T before. I've had the oppuntunity plenty of times, but for some reason I've never seen it. Awful of me, isn't it?
