I heard that eBay is a great place to hunt for SW action figures. You know, the same figures our parents chucked out millenia ago!!! Anyway, I toodled along and a brief search told me yup, this was the place.

And then I tried to register.

Short story - they won't let me! I have a valid debti card but that doesn't seem to matter. And i've been tearing my hair out since.

I should never have looked at what was available BEFORE i tried to register....that mint Zuckuss action figure, which could have been mine for eight squid, will haunt my dreams tonight......

Ages ago I tried to register with eBay but didn't have a credit card, so I left it.

Then a I tried a few weeks ago and it didn't ask me for any card! I signed up without giving hardly any personal details.

Do they accept debit cards or just Visa thingies (I have no idea about plastic money so they might be the same thing). E-Mail them and ask what the problems is, they're usually quite helpful even if it does take a couple of days for them to reply.

Beware of fake e-mails though because I have been getting one telling me that my account is suspended because of invalid card details. It asks me to click on a link and give all my details... it's a fake e-mail and it is infact a fake set up by some really quite clever people who make it look EXACTLY like e-bay but it's not and as soon as you enter your card details... bye bye card balance

E-Bay is tops for buying ANYTHING really and I've bought alot of Star Wars stuff off there over the last couple of years... and alot of other stuff... it does become HIGHLY addictive [face_blush]

I have seen in the news that PayPal is having problems since they did a software upgrade last week and it is affecting a lot of eBay users. Maybe you got caught up in that problem.

I collect SW Lego, and have had quite a good few steals off of Ebay... but I hate it when I see what looks like a great item to bid for but the seller only accepts Paypal!

I feel honoured. A friend sorted out his loft and found 15 original SW figures and GAVE them to me. It was the happiest day of my life.
*Cue the sympathetic looks at such a sad tale of joy*

    GAVE?! Bloomin eck

I once paid £10 for a Royal guard figurine... that'll teach me to lurk on the UK Garrison site [face_laugh]

Was for charity though so we both won as I'd been looking for that particular figure for ages :)

wow! Christmas came early for you that year!!!

I mailed e-Bay and i got an automated reply. Go figure.

I was on the phone to my mum and mentioned all this to her. "I actually wanted for you to keep them, but your dad thought you were too old for toys" (at 13?!?!?!).

So i have him to blame :lol

I love ebay - I've bought some bargins, and sold some old crap for loads of money.

I upgrade my cell phone every year for free, and sell the old one on ebay for about £50.

I also sold an old ZX Spectrum game (just a single game, but rare) for £50 too :)

You have to throw caution to the wind and give them your creditcard details, but so far I haven't had any trouble in over 4 years.
