I think there is a good case for the title of this thread: Jeff Lynne said when they first released 10538 Overture that they were picking up where I Am The Walrus left off, there is also an unreleased ELO song called Beatles Forever (no prizes for guessing what its about!)

Also Jeff Lynne has said on many occasions how much The Beatles inspired him, AND lots of ELO songs sound like they might have been on Abbey Road IMHO.

As if that wasn't enough, John Lennon even said that ELO were the 'Sons of The Beatles'!

    I rest my case...

    For now...

And yet nobody remembers ELO. What a stunner. ;)

I'd discuss it further but I can't recall much about ELO except Lynne and a vague recollection of one of their songs.

I dunno, I always considered them to be ripoffs of the Beatles...

Maybe no one remembers ELO, but I bet that most people have heard or at least know a couple of their singles, such as Livin' Thing, Sweet Talkin' Woman or the ever-popular Mr. Blue Sky!
