My cousin just told me that Guillermo Del Toro is going to direct a new, darker, live-action "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson as Belle. Did anyone else hear about this?

Guillermo Del Toro announces a new movies every 5 minutes. I will believe it when I see it being filmed.

Hmmm, I just did a search and found this link on the story.

The eternally-busy Guillermo del Toro may have already lined-up another upcoming project. Crazy, Stupid, Love. producer Denise Di Novi told ComingSoon.net at that film's New York junket today that she's developing an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast alongside del Toro and that Emma Watson is lined up to star.

Del Toro's next film, Pacific Rim is about to head into production with a cast that includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Rinko Kikuchi. Watson, meanwhile, is coming off the record-breaking success of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 and can next be seen in My Week With Marilyn later this year and The Perks of Being a Wallflower in 2012.

Details on the Beauty and the Beast project are currently few, but check back for updates as they become available.

I gotta say, it sounds interesting.

I still remember seeing the R-rated version of Snow White with Sigourney Weaver as a kid, hopefully this is just as good.

When can we start calling him Billy Del Toro, for short? Guillermo takes too long to type... [face_tired]

    But boring.
I watched it at a back to back screening with Volver. Volver is far superior. But Pan's gets the fan boy love because it looks pretty, smh.

You're just jealous of our very cinematic Civil War. What historical movies does Pakistang have? Doner kebab through the ages?

If I was Emma Watson I would decline a role where you're a pretentious bookreader that goes out and meet monsters.

GDT is the best, and if he actually does make a version of this I'm sure it's going to be amazing. I like Watson too. It just sounded too good to be something that would actually be made.

Although honestly, I guess Pan's Labyrinth seemed like that too.

My wife, as a devout Beauty and the Beast lover, and a Del Toro fan, just throw a complete fit as Emma Watson is possibly her most hated actress of all time, beside Keira Knightly.

I, on the other hand, enjoyed breaking the news to her.

That girl is strange, no question. Dazed and distracted, can't you tell?

Never part of any crowd, because her head's up on some cloud. No denying she's a funny girl that Emma Watson.
