I know for a fact that this thread has been done before, but I missed it when it came by so you can just answer my question and then lock this thread. The question is 'What was the font used at the end credits of the Star Wars movies'? Also, if you can, I'd really appreciate a link to where I can download the font for free. Thanks

    Um... ya

I don't know exactly, but I just used a couple from the Franklin family.

    They looked okay...

In Recon Squadron, I used Franklin Gothic Medium Cond, and it looks exactly like the real credits. One detail to be aware of is that the names are 20% larger than the titles (e.g. in "Directed by GEORGE LUCAS", "GEORGE LUCAS" should be 20% larger than "Directed by"). For the text color, I used R=28, G=165, B=225, and that is pretty close.

Thanks. Is that the same font you used for 'A Long Time Ago...' or is that something different?

Speaking of fonts, does anyone know what font's used for the subtitles in Star Wars (like in the parts when Jabba's speaking Huttese and such)? Thanks.

Here is a lot of fonts to use including subtitiles:

It doesn't have the credits however.

You know, if you get the font looking similar, which is possible if you own Photoshop or even Word, then no one will notice/care about the difference.

Fonts, imo, should be an afterthought, not a big concern.
I'm not doing a film in the SW galaxy, so I just use some spruced up Times New Roman (no beating the classics), and some sans serif-type font for the starfield credits.

Speaking of written stuff, what buttons to you press to get the copyright symbol? This is for the end credits.

It depends on the font. If you're on a PC, you can go to the "Start" Menu, and then go to "All Programs", and then "Accessories", and then "System Tools", and then "Character Map".

    Alt+0169

That's the numbers on the numpad, one at a time with Alt pressed down the whole time.

Nobody should ever use Times New Roman. Try one of the other windows-included serif fonts, like Georgia or Sylfaen.

My graphic design background is getting to me..
