This was a good move for the forums overall (though of course it will alienate a certain portion of posters) as it was a necessary step to take in order to get things back on track and to where people can actually talk about Star Wars again instead of just having arguments over personal opinions. The people that adamantly dislike the ST and want to voice that opinion still have the entirety of twitter and facebook and YouTube to do that so they still have plenty of places to discuss their displeasure with the current state of Star Wars. So in the meantime let's get into discussion about the potential upcoming story in IX. I think we can all agree that there will be a time jump. There really has to be if they want to have an actual war between the FO and Resistence. I watched the Q&A for Star Wars Explained the other day and he had someone ask him what he thought about IX's potential story and he thought it would play out similarly to the PT. Ep. II ended right at the beginning of the Clone Wars and then Ep. III took place right at the end. He thought there was a good chance they would do something similar here and then they could have a live action or animation series fill in that time inbetween the two movies just like TCW did. We know Black Squadron is still around somewhere out there and I am sure we will find out they have been recruiting new members (the Poe comic will likely get into that within the next year). Rey will fully accept being a Jedi and begin to study and learn more herself (likely will be visited by FG Luke to help her a long the way) and by the time of IX she will probably have a few students (though I imagine they won't be that good yet). I'm thinking a three to four year timeskip. Both Ridley and Boyega are in their mid '20's (and will be getting into their late twenties by the time IX roles around) and the characters they play are still in their teens so they could easily pull off a significant timeskip of 3 to 5 years. Still leaning against Kylo getting redeemed though it is fun to make Reylo jokes. I personally see Kylo making a sacrificial death at the end of IX instead of him and Rey riding off into the sunset to make Reylo babies. What you guys see happening for IX? Still all pure speculation as that havn't even started filming yet and the script is jus getting finished up.
My thoughts on the the 2nd or 3rd act...and some other wishes. I think maybe Finn and Rey try to convince the training troops of the FO on some new planet that the training facility is on to join their cause. If Finn can defect than so can others. Obviously some won't but I can see this happening. Some how fleshing out more of Finn backstory. I wana see Rey deflect some Damn blaster bolts. Hell, anybody for that matter. I can see Klyo and Poe having a great dogfight scene. Chewie and porg can be in the falcon helping the space/sky fight. I wana see a massive fight with hundreds of FO ST and Rey slicing her way though. Maybe a new double sided blue lightsaber. That would be epic and a HUGE money maker. I wana see a monster scary as hell. Rancor style. I hope to see planets that resemble the PT more. Courasant has got to be in it...more politics. And Force ghost LUKE and Anakin. Rose dies. Poe becomes new leader. Finn and Rey together. Kylo dead at hands of Rey. Jedi Academy rebuilt.
Obviously, as Dave Filoni has setup with the end of Rebels, our Heros and Villians will enter the Force Temple Time Warp, and battle with everyone from all 14 movies, including the cute kids from the Ewok movies. It will be bigger and more awesome than Avengers:Infinity Wars. And fans of OT, Prequels, Sequels, Cartoons and Expanded Universe and Video Games will unite in love for this movie. And JJ will disappear, his crisp suit and tie dropping in slow motion to the floor, and become a blue glowing Force Ghost who magically appears at ComiCons and Celebrations.

Episode IX? Well, here's my wish list.... -Grand Master Rey. Hey, if she has those Jedi texts and skills with a lightsaber, what more does she need, right? Just a few more rounds of believing in herself, and she'll be ready to carry on the future of the new-and-improved Jedi Order! -Finn and Rose get married and fight together. C'mon, there's so much chemistry there, and Finn needs a love interest, so why not? Cutest. Couple. Ever! Might as well make it official, right? -Speaking of the too-awesome-to-beat Rey, she's going to need an apprentice...who better than Broom Boy? That last shot in TLJ was *just* begging for a follow-up! C'mon, Rey-girl, take that kiddo under your wing and pass on what you've learned! That's all I can think of for now, but it's so exciting...can't wait for next year!
