    Who considers Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy episodes 7 through 9? What'd you think of the comic adaptions? What's your favorite and least favorite Star Wars novel?

    I consider it 7-9. Tim Zahn basically began the EU.

    I guess the thrawn trilogy could be considered episodes 7-9 since it was the first trilogy after ROTJ. But Lucas said his movies are the story of anakin skywalker and since he's not in TTT Lucas wouldn't count it as ep. 7-9.

    I didn't read the comic adaptions.

    There are too many good star wars books to pick a favorite. I liked almost all of them. But some of my favorites are Vision of the Future, Star by Star, The Last Command, and Champions of the Force.

    My least favorite would have to be the second book of the Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy. Can't remember the name.

    I don't. The original Episode 7-9 were thematically closest to the Dark Empire trilogy. I would consider those as close to Episode 7-9 as any EU source can get.

    I think that some of the best EU was produced before Zahn's trilogy in 1991. The Han Solo Adventures and the Marvel series are just two examples. Also, the Lando Calrissian adventures were really good too.

    I originally considered TTT as the best alternative for Episodes 7-9. HTTE was the first Star Wars book I had ever read, and I was wowed by it and still consider it some of the best EU out there.

    Dark Empire came out almost at the same time. But in hindsight, the story and art seem so...putrid...to me now that i can't embrace it as Eps. 7-9.

    I did at one point, but then I thought that 7-9 would be after the war with the Empire was wrapped up.

    The Dark Empire trilogy in terms of its importance and dramaticism gets closest to it, but the TTT would make a better one. It was executed far better.

    Of course now that I've said that, Genghis will bear down and make me prostrate for my henious blasphemy while he declares the Eps. 7-9 are a currently unheard of storyline being developped by Marvel where Lumiya destroys Luke, Mara, the Chiss, the Yuuzhan Vong, Pelleaon, the Chimeara, the Republic and is revealed to have been the Chosen One all along as well as being the inspiration to Imperial engineers for a biotech HRD able to use the Force known as Mara Jade. She is also revealed to be responsible for everything bad happening to Luke, Leia, Han and company after Endor. She destroys all the Jedi and then redeems herself, ruling as a benevolent monarch but not before destroying all historical records refering to the Mara Jade, Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign, and the Hand of Thrawn incident.

    Don't anyone get too offended now. 8-}
