a Jedi student of Vodo-Siosk Baas on Dantooine, Exar Kun used Vodo's holocron to learn about the ancient Sith. Exar Kun didn't like the fact that Vodo, not to mention his fellow students Crado and Sylvar, were not human, and he continually goaded them. He nearly killed Sylvar during a lightsaber training exercise, and she clawed him on the right cheek. Vodo stopped the duel before someone was killed, and challenged Kun to a duel between Kun's skill with a lightsaber and Vodo's skill with a walking stick. Vodo nearly defeated Kun, but Kun snatched another lightsaber and attacked his Master. Vodo's stick was broken, and Kun's rage passed as he felt he was victorious. Exar Kun then left Dantooine to try and obtain the Sith artifacts that had been found on Onderon. He entered the tomb of Freedon Nadd and was controlled by Nadd's evil spirit. Nadd led Kun to Korriban, where Kun discovered a pair of Sith scrolls that tantalizingly led him further down the path to the Dark Side. Kun tried to resist, but Nadd nearly killed him before offering assistance. However, the assistance required Kun to give himself to the Dark Side. Kun chose to live, and was drawn into the Dark Side's power. Then, Nadd directed Kun to go to Yavin 4, where he should complete the work of Naga Sadow. On Yavin 4, Kun again tried to renounce Nadd's teachings, and was captured by the Massassi. They tried to sacrifice Kun in a blood ceremony, during which Nadd's spirit goaded him down the Dark path. Exar Kun called out to the Dark Side in anger, and a Sith amulet was drawn to his power. It fused to his arm, and he was suddenly endowed with the power of the Sith. He took control of the Massassi, and exterminated Nadd's spirit. As the months went by, Exar Kun found Naga Sadow's works and began to gain more and more Sith power. Once he felt that he was powerful enough, he went to the Empress Teta System to defeat Aleema and Satal Keto and claim his position as Sith lord. When he arrived, Keto had already been killed by Ulic Qel-Droma, so Kun tried to defeat him in battle. The ancient Sith masters were drawn to the pair's incredible Dark Side power, and halted the battle. They named Kun the Dark Lord of the Sith, and Qel-Droma his Apprentice. They went into hiding, and continued to gain power. Kun was able to lure several young Jedi Knights to his cause, including Oss Willum and Crado. On Yavin 4, Kun showed them the Sith holocron, which he destroyed in a display of power. The shards exploded outward, piercing the young Jedi and possessing them with Sith demons. When the time was right, they exploded into the galaxy as Sith warriors. Kun ordered his young disciples to exterminate their Jedi Masters in a fiendish pogrom. Thus, the Great Sith War was started. Kun and Qel-Droma's forces killed millions in their rampages. When Qel-Droma was captured and put to trial on Coruscant, Kun and Mandalore arrived to retrieve him. In a show of power, Kun put the entire court into suspended animation, killing the Old Republic's highest official and eventually murdering Master Vodo. Kun later raided Ossus, in an attempt to steal the ancient Jedi and Sith lore stored there. This effort was cut short when Aleema destroyed the Cron System, and Kun was forced to flee back to Yavin 4 to regain his strength. The war would have continued, but the end of the war was quickened when Qel-Droma was captured on Ossus by Master Thon. He was cut off from the Force by Nomi Sunrider, and betrayed Kun by providing the location of Kun's power - the temples on Yavin 4 - to the Jedi. The Jedi then met Exar Kun on the jungle moon, where Kun drew on the Massassi spirits in an effort to gain strength and make a last stand against the Jedi. Exar Kun was defeated by the Jedi, but only his body was destroyed. Kun consumed the Massassi in an effort to lock his spirit away in the temples on Yavin 4, where it remained until Luke Skywalker started training his new Jedi Knights there more than 4000 years later. Kun tried to control the emerging Jedi Knights, but his hold was tenuous. His first attempt at contr

The Krath are a sect of aristicratic young people started by a brother and sister that dabbled in Dark Side magic. The brother and sister (Aleema and ?? sorry can't remember) collected Sith artifacts.

The Krath eventually grew powerful enough to overthrow their home system. Eventually Ulic and Exar Kun gained leadership over the Krath when they joined and became Sith Lords. Just before that, Ulic killed Aleema's brother for ordering the death of his Jedi Master.

Again, Jedi Master Siemas Taak urges us to heed the words of the ancient
Jedi Master Bodo Baas:

"Never, Oh master Jedi, rest easy
when your pupil begins to grow anxious
to learn at a pace greater than that
which you have set for him...
Beware, Jedi Master, lest
through carelessness and
inattention you loose on the
galaxy a monster..."
[/ul]The evil of KNOWLEDGE had not been defeated by the Jedi, it was only banished
for a time. The great Jedi had put an end to the explorers and scavengers of
the great Sith Hunt. The Jedi Council was able to purge the physical
manifestations of the Sith from the galaxy. The Old Republic had granted the
Jedi the power to lock up all of the remaining Sith artifacts in the great
Jedi library on Ossus. Finally, the balance had turned back to the Light.
Ultimately, someone would bring balance back to the Force. Ultimately, there
would be WAR.

Some 4,000 years ago this tale begins...
The history of the Old Republic would fill a thousand libraries. But some
events, some sacrifices, have become legend, passed from generation to
generation - the epic of the great Beast Wars of Onderon and the Freedon Nadd
Uprisings, how the bold explorations of young Jedi Knights Exar Kun and Ulic
Qel Droma would tear the galaxy apart... how the noble Jedi Knight, Nomi
Sunrider would nearly put an end to the menace of the Sith...and how the Sith
Empire would forever live on through Exar Kun's influences.

Four millennia before the birth of Luke Skywalker and the fall of
Palpatine's Empire...

Two thousand years before Darth Bane would make the Sith more
powerful than ever...

This was the Age of the Sith War.

Sith Empire
The Sith Empire had been destroyed for a thousand years. The new Sith Order
had been sent into hiding for nearly five hundred years. The Sith had been
wiped out of the galaxy. However, there must be balance. This time, it was
the Jedi who were to blame...[ul]
"Time and again, throughout the eons,
the power of the Dark Side of the Force
has advanced with the fury of a storm,
sweeping up star system after star system.
Only in great conflagration were the forces
of the Dark Side defeated...

The Dark Side has come before, and it will
come again. Do NOT underestimate its power.
That is why I have devoted my life to teaching
Jedi Knights, to strengthen the Light Side against
the tide of darkness that is sure to come."
- Vodo-Siosk Baas, Jedi Master[/ul]However, was Master Baas strengthening the Jedi, or would he ultimately
destroy them? Master Baas taught his students about the Sith and of the Dark
Lord that got away...[ul]"Hear me, oh Jedi...
It is an ill-fated time for Sith sorceror Naga Sadow...
exiled by his Dark Lord, branded a criminal by the Republic,
he flees across the galaxy, desperate to escape. His
antiquated Corsair passes under the Denarii Nova, a rare
double star. The guns of the Republic warships spell
certain doom for this self-proclaimed Dark Lord and his
confederates--but Sith magicians play by different rules...
The smaller Denarii Star feeds on gases stolen from its
larger brother. Periodically, in the natural order of
the universe, great flares of burning gases pass from one
star to another... However, the fleeing Sith care nothing
for the natural order of the universe...
Indeed, the Sith sorcerors believe the universe belongs to THEM.

Naga Sadow considered the death of the star system a small
price for his own survival.

The Dark Lords were powerful Jedi Knights who used the Dark
Side of the Force to master the Sith people. There could be
but one Dark Lord at a time... This lineage was passed from
one generation to the next. It is said their mumified remains
are preserved forever on

We just saw previously in Jedi Historian Siemas Taak's Holocron the events
leading up to the great and terrible Sith War. We have seen that pride,
in connection with anger, will destroy from within. We have seen how the
influence of the Sith will destroy all. We have seen Jedi Knight Ulic
Qel-Droma try to use the ways of the Dark Side to save the Light. We have
seen him fail. We have seen Exar Kun grow from Jedi into Dark Lord of
the Sith. This new Dark Lord will bring about the age of the Sith War.

have joined forces, forced into a common goal by hypnotic visions of a reborn
Golden Age of the Sith. A new menace has entered the galaxy. Driven by
fear... Driven by Hate... Driven by Anger... The Mandalore Warriors came to
enslave the Empress Teta System... instead they will join with the grand
vision of the Sith.

The Sith Empire had been destroyed for a thousand years. The original Sith
Order had been sent into hiding for nearly five hundred years. But, a new
order, the Krath had been reborn in its image. Brought to power by Krath
emissaries Satal and Aleema, the Krath had returned the Sith to the galaxy.
Fallen Jedi, Exar Kun had finished what the Krath had started. Exar Kun
had found the long-hidden Sith temples on Korriban... Exar Kun had found
the last great burial ground of the last great Dark Lord... Exar Kun had
found Naga Sadow... Exar Kun had found Freedon Nadd... Dark Lord Exar
Kun would bring about the new Golden Age of the Sith. Like Naga Sadow
before him, Exar Kun proclaims a new way for the Jedi...proclaims a new
Sith Empire...[ul]
Exar Kun's Proclamation to the Jedi:
"My Jedi brothers...no one honors our beloved masters more than I...
Indeed, I was apprenticed to the great teacher Vodo-Siosk Baas.
My master has been respected for centuries among our fraternity...

My greatness is for others to judge. All I can tell you is that
I have been fortunate to unearth forgotten Jedi secrets... things

many things have transpired. Mandalore presented Ulic with proof that the

The Sith Empire had been destroyed for a thousand years. The original Sith
Order had been sent into hiding for nearly five hundred years. But, a new
order, the Sith Brotherhood have taken its place. This new dark force was
led by former Jedi and reigning Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun. Joined
with him are former Jedi Knight, Ulic Qel-Droma; the fierce warrior,
Mandlore; and the Sith witch, Aleema. These four control the entire power
of several armies - the Empress Tetan forces, the feared Mandalore Warriors,
and the last remnants of the original Sith, the Massassi Warriors. In
addition to them, Ulic Qel-Droma has captured hundreds of the Republic's

The Sith War was over. Twice in two thousand years we have seen in the
Jedi Holocron found by Jedi Historian Siemas Taak that the Sith have
nearly destroyed the galaxy. First, the descendents of the original Sith
people and the Dark Jedi masters invaded the Old Republic and were barely
pushed back. They were ultimately destroyed. But, their power lived on
through Naga Sadow, a Dark Lord of the Sith who escaped the genocide. Next,
we saw how a new Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun destroyed the Great Jedi
Library on Ossus, and nearly took all of the Jedi with it. We saw how
Exar Kun seduced Ulic Qel-Droma by the Dark ways of the Sith. We saw them
both destory the entire Cron Cluster, and almost take the whole galaxy with it
using the long lost Sith power of Naga Sadow. We saw how both were defeated.
Now we will see how one will survive, and ultimately redeem himself. The Sith
do not always corrupt from outside. In fact, the worst comes from within.
Can one touched so deeply by the ways of the Sith ever return to the Light?

Again, Jedi Master Siemas Taak urges us to heed the words of the ancient
Jedi Master Bodo Baas:

"Never, Oh master Jedi, rest easy
when your pupil begins to grow anxious
to learn at a pace greater than that
which you have set for him...
Beware, Jedi Master, lest
through carelessness and
inattention you loose on the
galaxy a monster..."
[/ul]The time is ten years after the devastating Sith War, which turned Jedi against
Jedi and wreaked destruction on the Republic. Exar Kun, the self-proclaimed
Dark Lord of the Sith, had been destroyed in his Massassi temples on the jungle
moon of Yavin. The toll on the Old Republic was great. The Cron Cluster had
ceased to exist, destroyed by the dark arts of the Sith and the legacy of the
ancient Dark Lord of the Sith, Naga Sadow. The ensuing destruction also
destroyed the sum total of centuries of Jedi knowledge on the planet Ossus.
This loss would never be recovered. Exar Kun's chief lieutenant, Ulic
Qel-Droma, was stripped of his powers - blinded to the Force forever - by
Nomi Sunrider, after he killed his own brother, Cay. Since that time, Ulic
has tried to isolate himself, wandering powerless and trying to hide from his
past. He is a Jedi, and yet no longer a Jedi. While Exar Kun had been defeated,
his legacy of destruction would forever affect the galaxy. The galaxy had begun
to rebuild what it had lost. The Old Republic started healing the wounds. But,
some wounds can never heal.

Less than 4,000 years ago this tale begins...
The history of the Old Republic would fill a thousand libraries. But some
events, some sacrifices, have become legend, passed from generation to
generation - the fall, and ultimate redemption of Jedi Knight Ulic

This was the Age of Redemption.

Sith Empire
"I've had to overcome my own guild--can you overcome yours?"

The Sith Empire had been destroyed for a thousand years. The original Sith
Order had been sent into hiding for nearly five hundred years. The Sith
Brotherhood created by Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun had been shattered.
The pendulum had nearly completed its swing to the extreme Light. The sum
total of knowledge of the Sith was scarce. Much of their history was lost
in the Fall of the Sith Empire at the end of their Golden Age. What remained
was scattered throughout the galaxy during the invasion of the Old Republic.
However, after a number of battles, the Jedi claimed most of the Sith artifacts
and stored them in their Great Library on Ossus. That was destroyed. What
little that remained what taken by Exar Kun to his base on Yavin Four. That
base was razed by the Jedi. Nothing remained of the Sith legacy...their
